I’ve been asking myself why has it taken me so long to write this? Ultimately I still carry a huge amount of cognitive dissonance here. In my mind LayerZero the protocol was like Gnosis Safe and the application was setting their config, and who the )@(!$ would secure billions in TVL on a 1/1? I even tweeted about it, literally 0, I would have bet almost anything on that because almost every major application we helped setup their configs. Someone then going and manually changing that to a 1/1 was outside of the realm of possibility for me. I was wrong. It’s easy to sit back and say ‘it’s just a protocol we have no control over how people use it’ but we have the opportunity to be better. There was a conversation this week speaking to a customer and they just… screamed at me, at the top of their lungs, and swore for a solid ~3-5 minutes straight. We had implemented additional security measures of forcing a more stringent RPC quorum and forcing every chain to provide multiple RPCs and we had done it without telling them and it !)@$d with their business, which frankly is a deadly sin. We had messed with their business and they said communication wise we were completely blowing this. They were completely right. This is something I care about a ton, it is both the result of a huge portion of my life and something that I fundamentally believe in. I literally gifted a copy of Unreasonable Hospitality to every single manager in the company. The entire point of what we’ve built is to enable others to build on top of it, it is to provide a protocol and a platform for people to build on, and we’ve been failing some of our largest customers. The past two weeks have been unbelievably miserable. I’m incredibly grateful for all of the applications who have worked with us over the past 2 weeks, for @zeroshadow_io who has spent endless cycles with us tracking and seizing millions in attacker funds which will be returned to the rsETH team, and for all of the parties who brought together DefiUnited. Particularly @aave for leading and @MikeSilagadze for pushing everyone to get their !@)($ together and sort things out as quickly as possible, and putting himself in the frontline of acquisition talks and everything else to try to get to a solution quickly. @LayerZero_Core is one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure in the industry, the LayerZero protocol has earned the trust of the largest and most important asset issuers in the space. We will do better and we will make the industry better for it. My entire focus over the past 2 weeks has singularly been working with applications to harden their setup, building tooling to assist in tracking and freezing hacker funds, and the rsETH recovery efforts. That is going to shift now to where LayerZero Labs spends it's time and effort. The only thing this company will spend time on is how we can better serve our asset issuers and the upcoming launch of Zero.

Up until today, blind signing cost billions. Every signature, at risk. Today we're releasing Safe OpenSig, a verification instrument for Safe multisig signers. Built in collaboration with the @worldcoinfnd

@heymarcopolox I don’t mess with GitHub but I’m sure someone will open an issue at some point :)! @SafeLabs_ @rsquare Maybe we could have this tool built into safe instead of Tenderly? I’m all for what @PatrickAlphaC says but the average user wants less complexity. Not everyone moves millions.

@desuMKVI Ledger nano classic is just the first one we add support for it. You can influence which one we add support next by opening an issue on github

@heymarcopolox I was playing around with the app (btw super cool how it automatically catches all the data from your Safe account and gives you a run down of what’s happening in the tx) and noticed that only the classic devices were supported, so no Flex/Stax/Nano gen5. The Classics are old tbh

hi patrick! marc founder of candide here. open zeppelin tool would have passed on Bybit. the compromised UI showed real hashes, correct hashes for the malicious transaction. OZ confirms them: valid. but the simulation shown by the same compromised UI showed just a balance change. the user trusts both. the Ledger signs something else entirely. hash verification proves consistency. it doesn't tell you what the transaction does. Safe OpenSig simulate locally, independent of the browser. even with a compromised UI, you see what the transaction actually does. and btw regarding pricing community tier is free. the ledger emulator included. simulation included if you bring your own node

@fulltimelinkie Worst thing is the stake situation. Not sure if it’s about the clarity act, but having to trust third party solutions is not comfy.

Personal take: I'd actually prefer we get a % of revenue in $LINK than what they did with the BUILD stuff, even if it was only 1/10th the value. Because at least I know that will grow. BUILD rewards have done nothing but shrink.

@SmartCon_Drums @stakedotlink @linkpoolio Is this for real? Never read this anywhere. I always thought they were Linkpool, hence them posting the Linkpool explanation on Reddit when people ask about “the rug”.

Okay a lot going on here. @linkpoolio didn't rebrand. They are still Linkpool. They're still here. Stake.link is a group of 15 node operators which includes Linkpool. It's an enhancement. Anyone can stake with SDL. That's kind of the point. They built the protocol and smart contracts to automate link staking. Instead of watching for space to open up, you just set your link in the SDL priority pool and let automation do the rest. It's a feature, not a negative. As is receiving stLINK. stLINK is a liquid staking token that you can do whatever you want with. Send it to another wallet, use it in DeFi, buy/sell it, whatever you want to do. It represents one staked link with SDL no matter what. Again this is a feature not a negative.

This MRI study on young kids just exposed something terrifying: They scanned the brains of 60 children aged 3–5 — including 5-year-old Rose — and found interactive screen time is causing measurable loss of white matter in their developing brains. Even just 2 hours a day is linked to impaired neural connectivity, language, and literacy development. Professor Mike Nagel (neuroscientist and father) said his first reaction was simply: “Wow… I was not anticipating seeing anything like that.” We’re physically changing children’s brains before they even start school — and the damage is visible on scans. This one actually unsettled me. I’ve always suspected too much screen time was bad, but seeing real white matter loss in toddlers hits different. Parents of little ones — has this kind of research changed how much screen time you allow?

@rsquare @safe @SafeLabs_ @candidelabs So for someone who can’t be bothered trusting himself to use tools that “confirm” hashes etc, can the safe mobile be considered a safer version since apps can’t have their front end “manipulated” or dns hacked etc, right? Should be a game changer!

Feels good to be building again. "Audit Log" is a polished view into a @safe transaction that can give you the full picture i.e., from proposal to execution at-a-glance. Up next here is to bring more clarity on whether a signature originated from Safe Web, Safe Mobile, 3rd party app or something else. And after that is to be able to show Co-Signers more clearly from external providers.

You can always use this tool if you’re comfortable with CLIs github.com/pcaversaccio/s… For native, Safe Mobile is the place. We have loaded it more features recently like Safe Shield 🛡️and many more coming (including wallet connect, passkeys etc). We will be adding support with Safenet as well.

@Ledger @okx Works great. Was confused afterwards regarding the revoke process since the app doesn’t mention there is an allowance (which once spent, doesn’t need to be revoked manually). Maybe fix the wording on the article which explains this.

@oenophil15 @EBasilion Who says that Americans should have a say on who can own nukes? It’s a free world. Also, the US starts endless wars, topples governments, invades countries, and has actually nuked a country twice in a row. Can’t say the same about Iran, who has supported Greece in the past.

So your answer is yes, you and the Greeks you mention would have had the world trust them with a nuke. In that 5000 year history, Greece has never had any issues with Persia, so why would they now, amiright? Interesting view of both ancient and modern history. Wrong, but interesting.
