NSW Premier Chris Minns says people might not be happy with how protesters were handled on Monday night, but insists the government made the right call in directing police to respond as they did because the situation could have been far worse.

I asked Penny Wong today how hosting President Herzog in Australia when UN experts have found he incited genocide, when he has signed bombs used on Gaza and Israel is right now stealing more Palestinian land, how could that ever be about peace?

Labor leadership defending decisions to limit democratic protest and invite the head of a foreign state committing genocide to Australia. The police violence in Sydney was disgusting. What has happened to my party? Why are they defending genocide and police violence?

“Context is important,” you keep saying this like it is a magic incantation @ChrisMinnsMP here is the truth… you and the NSW Police couldn’t cope with a group of Muslim men peacefully praying in the street. You and your government didn’t want the optics whilst breaking bread with your Zionist guests. Thé overwhelmingly violent response from the NSW police force has shown Australia and thé world that you don’t govern in the interests of NSW folk you govern for a tiny fraction of the population. #NSWpol #nswpolicestate #MossadMinns #auspol
Omar Sakr@omarsakrpoet

Minns defended the police violence, of course. The question from the presenter about Muslims praying was so foul: “whether it was legitimate prayer or baiting police who knows but that will be weaponised” followed by Minns saying cops had to, they were in the middle of a riot???
