It is one year since the bloody war was started by the Hamas attacking Israel and killing over 1200 people and taking 250 hostages.
Israel's response has been grossly disproportionate.
Several thousand people, mostly civilians, have been killed by Israel's relentless attack in Gaza and now on Lebanon.
Hundreds of UN staff have been killed.
Every rule and convention of war has been violated
As the prime minister of India said
"This is not an era of war."
The war in Palestine and Lebanon must stop immediately. Only a cease fire will create the conditions for diplomacy and talks.
The One Nation One Election (ONOE) debate is hotting up
It is obvious that the BJP-NDA government is in a tearing hurry to pass the Constitution Amendment Bill quickly, possibly in the winter session of Parliament this year
It is possible the consequences of the Haryana and J&K elections will
unfold in 2025, and Maharashtra elections will queer the pitch further
While the I.N.D.I.A. bloc parties have opposed ONOE, they should meet quickly and formulate a step by step counter-attack on the Bill
The first step is to mobilise public opinion against the proposed Constitution changes that are intended to impose one narrative on the country and to subsume and suppress the regional identities of the states and their aspirations
Leaders must speak and write as often as possible highlighting the dangers of ONOE
I have opened the case against ONOE in a column in the Indian Express today. It is available in English and translated and published in 10 Indian language newspapers
The passing of Comrade Sitaram Yechury is a cruel blow to the forces that are engaged in a determined battle in the defence of democracy, liberty, equality, workers' rights and human rights. I know that from 1996, Comrade Yechury had stood with the progressive forces of the country. He was a committed Marxist but he was practical enough to understand that some of the goals of Marxism could be achieved, in the current age, only if he stood by other progressive political parties.
As the I.N.D.I.A. bloc is gathering strength, his services and support will be sorely missed.
I salute the memory of my friend and comrade, Sitaram. I offer his family and his party, the CPI(M), my sincere and heartfelt condolences
Mr Anantha Nageswaran, chief economic adviser, is certainly right in celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Jan Dhan Yojana
But should he not have acknowledged the pioneering role of Dr C Rangarajan, then RBI governor, who introduced the
'no frills account' or ' zero balance account'?
Millions of accounts were created in banks under the scheme and people encouraged to save
It is that scheme which was renamed as Jan Dhan Yojana by the BJP government in August 2014
I am happy that the scheme has grown to include over 53 crore beneficiaries
@amitmalviya Spoiling youth also… no discrimination for children …. Making them to shout against Annamalai …. You people doesn’t know meaning of decency
This is how Annamalai’s political rivals ‘celebrated’ DMK win in Tamil Nadu - by slaughtering a goat in full public view, with a picture of Annamalai on it.
Barbaric.
This is how the anti- Santan I.N.D.I Alliance will butcher the Hindus, if they ever come to power.
Initial data suggests that in 2024, 3 out of 4 Muslims have voted for the Congress alliance. Up from 2/4 in 2019. The Congress is now the new Muslim League. They will not stop, till they take away reservation of the SC/ST/OBCs and give it to the Muslims. We must stop them at all cost.
Simultaneously, the Congress and its alliance will unleash caste divisions, in order to weaken the Hindu consolidation, just as they have tried this time. This is a long cherished project of the Breaking India forces. Hindus need to beware.
@SSBATC@YouTube Yes india can be the best economy provided corruption is eradicated and strict rules are implimented for better discipline, change judiciary attitude.
