I always talk about the importance of distribution, but we need to look deeper: if your product is bad, users will churn a lot, and you’ll only retain people who forget to cancel. Growth will stop as soon as you reduce distribution.
This is especially important for indie hackers. Product quality matters even more because you need to retain as many customers as possible. You don’t have enough funding to run ads or paid UGC like VC-backed products do.

Things that actually improved my daily life and workflow
- ignoring most growth advice and doing what works for me
- living in SEA, especially Bali: lower stress, better routine, more room to experiment
- lifting weights, which turned out to be way more important than I expected
- doing the actual work instead of organizing productivity apps
- focusing on one thing at a time
- getting enough sleep
