Heartbroken over the tragic loss of 16-year-old Juliana Nzita, a young Black teen originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was reported missing on April 28, 2026. Ten days later, on May 8, her body was discovered hanging from a tree on the grounds of the United House of Prayer for All People church. While the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has ruled her death a suicide, her family and many in the community are voicing deep concerns and pushing for a more thorough investigation into the circumstances. This is devastating. No child should ever have to be mourned this way. May her memory be a blessing and may she rest in eternal peace. 🕊️
