Chase Dollander away versus home starts this season. Dollander has been dialed in this year, regardless of where the starts are at. However, you can see how much better his stuff is on the road. Let’s analyze: Fastball: he loses about 3.5” of IVB and 2.5” of HB, causing his Stuff+ to drop ever so slightly. He still sits 99 so it works. Whiff rate drops about 4%. Sinker: Big difference here, while it has less IVB at home, he loses about 4.5 inches of HB, causing an 8 point decrease in Stuff+. While still 106 Stuff+, it is not as good as on the road. We see an increase in whiff rate, but a vast drop off on chase rate. Changeup: Here’s the biggest one. Dropping from 104 Stuff+ on the road to 93 Stuff+ at home due to a loss of horizontal break. This is further represented in a 10% decrease in Whiff rate and a 30% decrease in chase rate. The Slider is elite regardless of the stadium, but the curveball takes a significant hit at Coors Field. Coors Field is not pitcher friendly, and it is extremely interesting to see how everything plays out at elevation. #MLB #Rockies #Baseball

In-Zone Whiff% leaders so far for the 2026 MLB season (>= 300 pitches so far). These 5 starters have been dialed in to start the year. #MLB #Pitching #Baseball

Why is Munetaka Murakami mashing baseballs? While this isn’t the complete reason, often people fail to realize the dissimilarities between baseballs used in the MLB versus the NPB. Balls used in the NPB are smaller, tackier, and have higher seams. All 3 of these factors allow pitchers to spin the ball faster, generating more movement. It is estimated that a pitcher loses around 1.7” of IVB on their fastball from NPB ball to MLB ball. How does this relate to Murakami? Murakami is used to facing fastballs with higher carry, making it easier to adjust to the fastballs in the MLB, even if the velocity might be increased. Think of it like a fastball in Seattle versus a fastball in Denver. I would expect him to continue the trend of hitting bombs this year👀 #MLB #NPB #Baseball #Hitting

Jose Soriano has been nothing short of dominate this year. To no surprise, his Stuff is backing it up. A 5 pitch mix of 5 + pitches, Soriano’s movement plots and strike zone plots are ridiculous. Excited to see if he can keep the pace this season. @AngelsWin #CyYoung #MLB #Pitching #Angels

Jackson Flora (@UCSB_Baseball) has been showing why he’s the #1 RHP on the board for the 2026 MLB Draft. In 57.1 innings, he has a .63 ERA, .138 BAA, with 71 Ks. Here’s a look at his 4 pitch mix over the course of the year: Fastball: 108 Stuff+ (95-99 mph, solid carry from <6’ release) Changeup: 95 Stuff+ (when he throws it right, it’s a ++ pitch, 120 Stuff+, but fairly hit or miss on movement plot) Slider: 105 Stuff+ (86-90 mph, positive IVB and good HB) Sweeper: 103 Stuff+ (80-83 mph, lots of sweep) #Flora #Pitching #MLBDraft
