@XiIsKillingUs @unlearn16tweet @007GoldMiner Certainly not when Danielle Smith and 9 Wildrose members crossed the floor to join the PC Party of Alberta... Chretien had 8 floor crossers, MacDonald had 9. It has happened 259 times in Australia since 1950 and it happens enough in New Zealand that they call it Waka Jumping.

Floor-crossings have never created majority governments in our Westminster systems, UNTIL now in 2026, when the Chinese Communist Party has successfully taken control of the Liberal Party with its authoritarianism guidance and bribery schemes… “In fact, in our Westminster system, the only places I could find mass defections and inducements that changed the balance of power were in East Africa - Malawi, Kenya. Kenya now has strict anti defection laws to prevent such abuses of power. Every other example in mature democracies - UK, Australia, NZ and Canada (before Carney) were either through a single independent crosser (not mass inducement), Speakership or coalitions and accords. In the latter three instances they were all carried out transparently and in the House. Every thinking person in Canada should really have a good look at what this means. Holding the crossers as trophies or traitors is actually beside the point. What is at stake is much bigger than them. It is the autocracy that Carney is creating and its acceptance by media, sycophants and pacifists.” x.com/macleodlisa/st…

@ugottabekiddin I think that if you ask us, you will soon discover that most of us aren't ok with it. It is just confusing on all fronts and I can't imagine she lasts the year as a Liberal.

I can't understand how people who have been bitching about a far right candidate for years are suddenly fine with accepting her with open arms. I just don't get it. Sure it might be convenient due to increased seat count but it ignores all her unhinged maga like history. WEIRD.

Look, I don’t think it’s appropriate. Wish he hadn’t. But if I have to choose between this and Trans Recognition Day or whatever on Easter, okay.

@TMerk4343 @implausibleblog What exactly did the Europeans do that Trump wanted? Trump caved on everything because if the EU called in the $2 trillion in US treasuries the American economy would collapse overnight.

I think it’s hilarious when they say that the US is stepping off as the leader of the free world when President Trump just walked into Davos and literally made them do everything he wanted!!! That’s called leadership Did the EU make Trump do anything or lead him anywhere? Nope 👎🏻

Journalist, "Mark Carney said the middle powers need to adapt to a world without American leadership, in some sense, that's an anti American point of view" Gavin Newsom, "When I was listening to the EU president Ursual von der Leyen speak, that used to be us" "Am I surprised by what Carney did?" "I had more leaders in the US privately - not publicly - send me the transcript of that speech" "The clarity came from the Prime Minister of Canada" "The fact that Carney went to China, came back with a deal, including for low cost high quality electric vehicles not made in Michigan, Detroit, but overseas?" "It says everything you need to know about the recklessness of America's foreign policy under Trump" "It's a remarkable thing to break down 80+ years of alliances" "It takes decades to build trust, organisations" "It takes weeks, hours, minutes, to destroy it" "Destruction is not strength" "The Trump administration is weakness masquerading as strength" "That's reflect in his tweets, in cancelling people, in sending masked men into American cities" "I respect what Carney did, because his courage of conviction, he stood up, and I think we need to stand up in America" "We can lose our republic as we know it" "Our country will become unrecognisable"

@Feisty_Waters 100% agree but there just isn't enough of the people I follow on Bluesky. I really want to leave though, today X flagged my account for LIKING Governor Walz's post and temporarily suspended me to prove I'm not a bot. This is the 4th time this week.

The shitty new terms of service, the shitty grok stuff, the shitty people in general are all good reasons to leave and why the bluesky crowd think we are awful or stupid for staying. I’ve been here for 16 years and thought I’d outlast the shitty owner, but am losing hope.

From the DM’s… The UCP Caucus was apparently up late last night in a blind panic over recall. They’re allegedly desperate to find any reason that they can sell to their base to justify shutting down the existing recall efforts. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

@EconBerger @ernietedeschi Disagree with that interpretation. Boromir made sure that everyone could escape and gave his life doing so. Yes, Frodo had to run from him before the Ring's per over him was broken but he redeemed himself in fighting for their escape.

@deviatomic @ernietedeschi He didn’t break from temptation… Frodo ran away. He died trying (ineffectively) to defend Merry and Pippin, but I don’t think there’s anything in the text suggesting he helped Sam and Frodo escape.

@KristinRaworth I think that when the party you originally represented has strayed so far from their roots that you don't recognize them any more and you feel they no longer represent you or your constituents a floor crossing is the only way to go.
