The bankruptcy administrator for Terraform Labs just dropped a lawsuit against Jane Street, one of the most powerful trading firms on Wall Street. The allegation: Insider trading that helped accelerate a $40B wipeout. Here's what the lawsuit claims happened… - In May 2022, Terraform Labs quietly withdrew $150M in UST from Curve3pool. - Minutes later, a Jane Street-linked wallet pulled out $85M. - That timing wasn't coincidence, according to the lawsuit. Jane Street was allegedly front-running based on material nonpublic information from Terraform insiders. Ok… why does this matter? (This was like 4yrs ago at this point) ‘Cause Jane Street isn't some random trading desk. They're a high-frequency trading powerhouse that moves billions. If they had insider knowledge that Terra was about to wobble, trading on that information could have created a cascading effect. The lawsuit names Jane Street co-founder Robert Granieri and employees Bryce Pratt and Michael Huang. The administrator's statement is damning: "Jane Street abused market relationships to rig the market in its favor during one of the most consequential events in crypto history." Jane Street has fired back, calling the allegations "desperate" and "baseless." They say it's just an attempt to extract money from the bankruptcy process. As per the lawsuit, UST depeg was a smart playbook by Jane. Here’s the timeline outlined in court: • In May, Terraform quietly pulls 150M UST liquidity from Curve • Minutes later, Jane Street allegedly dumps 85M UST • Panic spreads • Depeg accelerated, and a collapse happened. The complaint also claims Jane Street had advance knowledge via a private group chat called “Bryce’s Secret.” A Jane Street trader who was a former Terraform intern and provided insider information. The suit alleges Jane Street: • Avoided $200M+ in losses • Profited during the meltdown • Positioned themselves while retail was wiped out Jane Street has denied everything and called the lawsuit “baseless.” But the timeline indicates that Jane Street maybe behind all this. Issues now appear only when relevant to the chain you’re interacting with. Edge-case swaps now show explicit warnings before execution. 4) Limit swaps Now you're able to post limit orders. As many orders as upi need. note: It's temporarily disabled. Will go live once an API level bug is resolved. 5) In progress - major UI upgrade - bonding / unbonding for RUNE All high & medium priority bugs fixed + hundreds of small UI improvements.
