10 years ago when working for Netflix the internal dialogue was "We need to be HBO before HBO becomes us" -- Netflix wanted to create quality content before HBO could stream. Yesterday, Netflix announced the acquisition of WB and HBO. Wow.

Are we then willing to educate our children, family, friends, and neighbors? How receptive will they be to such learnings? We live in a vastly different world. If we aren’t willing to rethink freedom we will be taxed with an insurmountable burden of choices we must sift through

If we aren’t willing to rethink freedom of speech in a time that’s vastly different than when it was first ratified — are we ready to continually learn how to distinguish state sponsored propaganda, conspiracy theories, and op-Ed’s from quality information?

Freedom of speech was forged when spreading ideas took real effort. Anonymity meant building credibility under pen names; foreign propaganda needed boots on the ground. Now, anyone with AI can produce studio-level misinformation from anywhere, share it everywhere, instantly.
