@Kleanisklean@ARCRaidersGame Yo if this game is going to get weird like this. I'm out. I'm not playing some game that is ok with promoting weird stuff like this.
@CJ_CS2 Buying off the steam market isn’t a trade, there’s a difference. When you buy off 3rd party they have to send a trade offer, you don’t get a trade
Offer on community market as it’s not a trade it’s just a transaction, which is final
Out of curiosity, why can't you reverse steam market trades?
Both steam community market purchases and p2p trades require authentication from the steam authenticator. But p2p has reversals and scm doesn't?
I am almost certainly missing something
@Mutt9119@olafkswg@CounterStrike They do get their money back, they are just mad that they couldn’t profit off someone else’s mistake. They get every cent back that they put in
@Vancho666_CS An easy fix would be to change the revert feature to have a “request a trade reversal” button instead of being able to immediately do it. Then Valve will check to see if your account actually got compromised (the only reason for reversal per steam), and if not, deny the request
Honestly this new update is killing the joy of the market. If you somehow manage to outsmart the market , you get reversed. The issues is way bigger than i thought it would be.
Considering not only Chinese reverting, but big trading sites/traders is so annoying. Hopefully the marketplaces would find a way to enforce their rules more strictly especially in chinese markets.
CS2 Market "CRASH" Predictions:
- People who spent $50 to unbox a $2000 knife will quicksell, buy orders will be swept, we will see wonky low sales/snipes/mass undercutting
- More buyers than sellers, market will recover quickly in a few days, a week
- Cheap knives will stay cheap
- Some Reds more expensive as tradeups can't stay profitable (they are rn)
- Active drop duty case GOLDS will fall in price, especially easy to craft e.g. Gamma Dopplers FN (e.g. D&N case)
- Gloves/Hydra = Best case/covert investment
- FT gloves are COOKED (easiest to craft)
- New GOLD hightiers will be float capped FN's (Crimson webs, bluegems in FN, dare I say ST FN, OG dopplers)
- Market will "CRASH" more on 31st than 30th
Thoughts?
@cs2_coco Knifes market was a very limited shady market outside Valve’s hands. Most of the people who wants a knife skin were not going to a 3rd site to buy them. Instead crashing knifes gives people the chance to even have a rusty knife cheaper and Valve takes even more cut from cases.
“nice update now I can finally buy a knife cheap”
if you think valve did this for ANY reason other than their own profit you are lost
and this $2.5 BILLION drop comes 99% from normal ass people/players who bought a skin in a game they love
@greenface1000@TDM_Jesus We are nowhere close to the “start of skins” lol did you even play then? Bc you wouldn’t be saying that the prices now are still nowhere even close to as low as back then
@DMSkyline@zipelCS I’m not talking about those countries either I’m talking about US. Why would we even be talking about any countries that aren’t 1st world? They aren’t the ones participating in a virtual skin economy to begin with
@devinpitt88@zipelCS Nah you're missunderstanding me... what I'm talking is average in terms of world wide economy per say... I'm not saying average in Denmark or Swiss or Germany where salaries are high... CS skins are somewhat fixed on their prices, but paying 500$ for a skin is not the same
I think I can comfortably say that I sit in the top percentile of the biggest losers from this update
Am I happy to lose money? No. Am I upset? No.
The more I think about it the more obvious it becomes that what we see in our echo-chamber on X does not correlate with the wider playerbase.
No need to sugercoat it, yes for some trust is lost, yes some collectors will leave, yes some items will never recover in price, but this update will also create new collectors and new opportunities
I always told people that asked me what if you get banned? What if you get hacked? What if skins crash?
My reply was always, then that happens and so be it
This update taught me at least on a positive note that what I said was true. It is not fun losing a house overnight, but I willingly risked, I got to the point of being able to lose it in the first place by being here and therefore feel no regret, no panic, no grief
The people who will lose trust, the people who lost enough to go mad are people Valve have no interest in serving anyway - remember that
This update, whilst being the worst I have sat through will rebalance the economy and things will find its footing like it always does. The notion that enough trust is lost and the market will die is incredibly stupid. If the CS economy consisted only of skin nerds on X, then yes, different story. But we represent not even 1% of the market.
With the current widespread panic in the market I will spend the coming days taking inventory of what I have but avoid speculating.
There are with no doubt many skins that can be bought now at a much lower price than we will see in a few months, however, there are also many items that will continue to bleed. My only advice is do not attempt to recoup losses by further speculation.
To those of you who got hurt badly by the update, to those of you who were over leveraged, try to find the value in what happened. Reflect and adapt. Every single financial loss I endured thus far I would not take back if I could. Each time allowed me to rid of dysfunctional character traits, whether it be greed, unconciousness, envy, ego or whatever.
@ohhmynord@Fwiz@MattMrX No they won’t lol. Just bc their item that was once 5k is now 2k does not mean they are gonna sell it for steam wallet balance which is not withdrawal-able to their bank account. People sell $20 items on 3rd party bc they want actual money for it, and that’s not gonna change
@Fwiz@MattMrX It's to early money. High value items such as knives and gloves were sold outside of valve control. Bring down value so people will start using steams eco-system.
Counter-Strike rugged its entire community. They put out a pretty savage update that lets you bundle items to trade up, and now people are using ~$5 worth of items to draw what once was $1000+ knives.
They just rinsed everyone in the market who had anything of any value.
@BeckerIdo@Fwiz@MattMrX But what makes you think people are gonna sell on steam just bc the item is under $2k? 99.9% of people would still rather sell on a website they can actually get the money from. Makes zero sense as people literally sell $20 skins on 3rd party bc they actually want the money
@Fwiz@MattMrX its not only about it i think, it will drive lots of the pricier items that were being traded and sold out of their market INTO their market. so now they will get way more commision fees by bringing prices down, now they basically readded skins that broke the price cap back down
@Jazzza99@zipelCS Same, but those skins were never “pennies” lol. I mean compared to their recent value sure, but they’ve always been basically over $100
@k0cur3s@zipelCS Do you not think they don’t plan on adding golds to the terminals now that they can be traded up to? That’s a pretty likely outcome that I don’t think you’re taking into account
@zipelCS Because the terminal isn’t considered a loot box, it will be legally fine. However, since the terminal doesn’t contain knives or any special rare items, players will have to purchase 5× Covered items to reach a knife or gloves.
@DMSkyline@zipelCS Many average players do though, idk where you get that statistic from but I personally know at least 9 people who work average jobs that had a TON of money in CS. And I see many of them throughout my games also. There were many average people affected, not just collectors
@zipelCS I'm all for skins, not saying they should be super cheap or whatever... but everyone saying shit about "regular players" when regular players have a life and bills to pay... it's not like average players got 5 or 10k inventory and suddenly they lost a lot of money bcs of update..
@_mortingeN@zipelCS@Kyrozopvp Most likely yes. Luckily I sold my Karambit slaughter MW for almost $1500 only a couple hours after the update . I know many weren’t as lucky though
@zipelCS@Kyrozopvp You’re telling people not to speculate but you’re doing the same exact thing with these replies. You don’t know that. No one knows anything.
@Kyrozopvp Nobody is going to undercut 30 dollar gloves on the 30th. Some items will go up because the anticipated influx isnt as vast, other items (mostly mid tier priced ones) will bleed on this day more likely than not. Its not black and white.
