All the big labs are all losing money and at some point will have to charge more or get better at reducing the amount of tokens required per task. It’s going to split into what you want to accomplish. Code - pay this sub, design - pay this sub, agents - pay this sub, regular chat - pay this sub and on and on.

I bet we’re ~6mo from a vibe shift back to OpenAI GPT5.5 is very impressive and 40% cheaper, limits are higher. Codex is stellar and taking mindshare of the top devs I know. Teams I talk to are disillusioned with ROI from soaring Anthropic costs. It’s becoming untenable.

Today was the first time I started a print from the Handy app. After have the Bambu for at least a year and a half. I don’t really care for the app but in this instance it was easier to restart than go upstairs.

Wow I’ve been using @OpenAIDevs Codex for a week and went back to @claudeai for a project. The people that are saying Claude is better must not have tried Codex as of late. Claude is still the same as it always was. Running in loops missing clear directives and doing whatever. I’m telling it something is not possible and it grills me three different ways. I try it just in case and no that shit don’t work like I said originally.

So week 3 of using Macbook after years of using Linux: - Battery life is superb - Shit window management - Shit application launcher (Raycast uses too much memory) - I miss nix - Its nice that a lot of application are supported out of the box, and dont have weird workaround - Keyboard is kinda meh - So far I dont need to install weird shit because my work are mostly done in the web & lark. If its not for work, I would not use it tbh..... the only thing I like about it is the battery life and screen.

AI have a peculiar set of skills...
I am thoroughly DISGUSTED with doctors, in general. I wanted to find a doctor closer to where I live, but there are none that are worth even a penny. I either can not get appointments when I need them or they have some kind of God complex. That does NOT work for me, so I ended up going back to my original doctor in my old neighborhood - at least I can go in as a walk-in when I need to see somebody right away. They actually CARE about me and do their best to help me.

A new study suggests conservative Americans experienced worse health outcomes and higher mortality rates than liberals over the last decade. Researchers attribute this widening gap to demographic shifts and a growing distrust in doctors among… dlvr.it/TShnd6

I'm curious, is it 100% sure that Bambu Lab runs closed source firmware on their printers without any open-source stuff? Not hate to them, I just don't trust them fully on that part. And I'm also just curious. 🤣

@devmobnow Did you send that email to support[at]academind[dot]com? Because I can’t find any recent emails on that topic there. Please send another one and include the last four digits of the credit card you used (and / or transaction date + email used if you used PayPal)

@maxedapps I hate to message you here but I’ve emailed and I have used the contact form on Academine. I had tried to sign up in march a three times and each time it looked like it went through but it wouldn’t let me access classes. I went back today and see it charged me three times and never gave me access.

@rileybrown I like Codex so much better as an app and direction as Claude. You’re right though and if I was a betting man I would say they’re hard at work over at OpenAI.

@bryanrbeal I’m so sick of it. When I first moved down here I was seeing this Doctor for a year and didn’t realize she was a nurse. I could have swore I even heard other staff refer to her as Doctor.

If I have to see an NP instead of a real doctor, I want a 50% discount on my bill This is quite the racket healthcare providers have devised. Most of the time you go to the “doctor“ you’ll never see a doctor at all. You’ll see a nurse practitioner. But they’ll still bill you as if you had seen a doctor. Even though the nurse practitioners are far less educated and trained, and paid much less.

Employers are clamoring for workers who can do doctor-like work but who are trained faster and can cost them less. on.wsj.com/4wMBXbr

It feels like Open Source is in its last few years. What need will there be for it if AI will do what it say it will. I find it hard to believe that AI won’t be segmented and everything you do will be a different subscription otherwise the whole Mobile and Web app market will implode.

@devmobnow i truly hope Orca stays true to what's been until now and somehow we can keep using it. I'm done having to pay a fee for whatever pops up.

It’s a set up so they can charge a subscription. Use Prusa Slicer it’s the only real option at this point. I would imagine Orca will be blocked and all others will be paid ecosystems especially when that law passes. I would bet all the major players are actually behind that law because it gives them a great excuse to institute what they want. Subscriptions or adds and a locked down proprietary system including printer, slicer, and models. All of the above will be different subs in some form or another.

@aj_inapi The people who blame boomers are the ones who need to blame something for their failures. They were taught in school nothing was their fault and feelings matter more than facts.

I don't want to act like I know, only because I don't live in America. Why are boomers being vilified in America and more so in the West? I see a growing trend of this online.

Our government is considering regulations that could severely impact the future of 3D printing, even for talented young creators like this. California lawmakers are currently advancing legislation that restrict access to open-source and consumer 3D printers. All states will follow. @krgv check this out!!! I gotta be honest, stuff like this hurts. Makes me not want to continue talking about the agentic coding tools I'm testing on here. A few weeks ago I was talking about Codex non-stop, before that Droid non-stop, before that Perplexity. Over the last few days I've been sharing a lot about Cursor and Composer 2.5. But it seems I can't win. If I get excited about one tool, that's brand new, and I talk about it a lot, I suddenly get labeled as the "tool x" guy. Sucks. If your goal was to make me feel bad Nicholas, you did. And if people think of me as "the Grok Build guy" that would be super disappointing. I like to try any and every agentic coding tool, and I talk about what I'm testing, and I'm an enthusiastic guy, but maybe my enthusiasm goes too far, and I need to tone it down because this is not what I want.
