I'm building a voting platform that could change how Africa makes decisions. I have no funding yet, no safety net but a team of 7 people ready to shape Africa Hi, I'm Jobocu and this is the thread I wish someone had written before I started. 🧵 It all started with frustration. I watched Nigerian universities, national and state elections get rigged in broad daylight. everyone knew but nobody could prove anything. then I thought, what if you could make a vote that is verifiable and is nearly impossible to fake? That question became @devote_gov Devote is a zero-knowledge proof voting platform built on Avalanche. where users can organize and participate in elections as well. zero-knowledge proofs mean that your vote is counted, verified, and public but nobody knows it was you. I'm building this with a team of 7 people all betting on something that doesn't pay yet. We got rejected by YC, we didn't make it past round 2 of the Avax hackathon as well. but I'm still going, not because I'm fearless but because the world has to be a better place and I want to make it happen. I genuinely believe Africa's biggest problems won't be solved by people who will fly in to fix us. they'll be solved by people who grew up watching the problems up close and got angry enough to build something. they'll be solved by those who decided to take actions in the right directions. that's the only edge I have and I'm using it.
