Some women commented with what worked for them, but the men…wow. They were armed with their actually’s and their criticisms of me personally. I was even told by one that I was the reason Trump was elected in 2016. The outright laugh that I had at that one… 🤣🤣🤣

I think about the way women—especially women of color—have to be sweet & kind & palatable to fit into spaces that don’t want to welcome us only to have that weaponized as weakness and it fills me with so much rage. I’m always grateful for everyone who chose public service anyway
