@Teebotjs The ones in that photo were SLA printed on a Formlabs printer. The resolution on the Form SLA machines is very good, but they do require a lot of supports which is quite a bit of work to clean up. With the new SLS prints, we don't have to worry about support structures.

@dexhandv2 What materials are the tendons and tendon sleeves made from?
This is incredible work - congrats!
English

@CubedUnit In this case, I’m able to drill them out from two sides so it’s fairly simple.
English

@CubedUnit Been lucky so far. Only a couple of channels have needed any clearing. Hopefully that continues.
English

@CubedUnit The biggest thing is avoiding any surface defects created by SLA or FDM processes. There’s a ton of internal chambers and routing for tendons and wiring so it can be quite a chore to make sure everything is cleaned out and fits well after prints.

@StewartSwayze Thank you! Sometimes it feels like two steps forward, one step back, but it’s starting to come together!

@rare_matt They get attached to digital servos. We’re currently using Feetech STS3032 servos in the forearm to control them.
English

@dexhandv2 Really impressive. Are the strings attached to steppers?
English

@moaazsidat Thanks! Yes. Very nice fit. Impressed with the SLS printed tolerances.
English

@Joedefendre Thanks so much. Yeah. These prints make the whole thing look the business.

@vikkhanna @victoriajungvan @BCNDPCaucus You bet! Thanks Vik. We are here in B.C. and would love to be part of the STEM Curriculum!
English

High school kids COULD be making this in September.
Ask @victoriajungvan to make it happen as this is Open Source!
Or is the school board busy following @BCNDPCaucus directions to sub divide education lands covertly?

Here is a much more detailed shot of an assembled thumb made from SLS printed components. The fit and action is definitely the smoothest we’ve seen so far in printed parts.

@ianpritchard Yes. Thermal management is definitely going to be an issue. The servos get pretty hot in there. Likely will need some fans also.
English

@dexhandv2 Wow, SLS really is a game changer. Looks like there's ventilation added to the palm.
English

@ianpritchard Yes! Very happy with the print quality on the SLS prints
The palm section is amazing looking.

English

@dexhandv2 V2 is looking great! Very clean prints there.
