@dexpolley @Nsight4sight @TheOmniLiberal Oh no for sure, this is just the only way it could ultimately result in the product/an alternative being cheaper. They likely wouldn't even invest the additional revenue directly anyway. They would wait for it to reflect in share value to borrow against/secure investment with.

@darrensmale @Nsight4sight @TheOmniLiberal Buying the now cheaper domestic product. Doesnt mean less expensive than it was before. Increase in supply chain infrustructure can bring down prices but its not a given that the comparative advantage would be better than just buying the import.

@dexpolley @Nsight4sight @TheOmniLiberal Tariffs would only achieve this by forcing consumers to buy products that because of the tariffs are now cheaper than the initially less expensive alternative. This new revenue might enable the manufacturer to invest in production and supply chain to drive costs and prices down.

@Nsight4sight @TheOmniLiberal Google it man. There are reasons to do tarrifs. Lowering prices isnt one of them. The desired effect of tarrifs is to raise prices.

@Nsight4sight @TheOmniLiberal I mean it does. By definition, a tarrif makes an imported good more expensive. The reason you would impose a tarrif is to make imported goods more expensive.

Nobody has fought harder for full release of the Epstein files and prosecutions of those who abused children more than I did, knowing full well that the legacy media, far-left propagandists and those who are actually guilty would: 1. Admit nothing 2. Deny everything 3. Make counter-accusations against me I knew that I would be smeared relentlessly, despite never having attended his parties or been on his “Lolita Express” plane or set foot on his creepy island or done anything wrong at all. Nonetheless, the extreme pain of being accused of being the opposite of who I am was worth it. The strong must protect those cannot protect themselves, especially vulnerable children. I will gladly accept any amount of future pain to do more to protect kids and give them a chance to grow up and have happy lives.
