Are you dumb? Cantona won the league with Leeds then came to United won it every season he was at United apart from the one he was suspended during. Goal catalogue ridiculous, leader of men and basically decided where the league would be.

Works out a couple of million more a season.
But they’ve just happily wrote off a transfer fee for Salah which could have effectively froze ticket prices for 20 years.

@ianyoungkop Both are/were great. Cantona arrived and won the league with Leeds, went to their rivals and won 4 titles in 5 years. Utd didn’t win it the year he missed 6 months and the year after he left. Huge influence.

Might want to google Wayne Rooney to Man City, also if you don’t think Salah had a bigger impact than Cantona, footy’s not for you.

@BenBLFC True but when Klopp left it was looking like a 3 year transitional project with most of the squad leaving. for different reasons. I’d take one PL title in the first two years, all our summer 2025 signings and Alonso coming in. No CL would be a blow.

I think it’s classy to announce it early. Facilitates a proper goodbye. It does beg a question though - has a fee already been agreed with another club ? Surely this announcement can’t happen without that ?
