@doloughlin32 For me, the downside to self-pub is your story is unlikely to get into anyone's hands unless you market it well and thoroughly, and that may be more draining than querying. You have full control, but it's only for a switch that doesn't appear to do anything wherever you push it🎚️

More and more, I'm leaning towards self-publishing. My main goal? Getting my story into your hands, not the money. The traditional query process is draining, especially for someone neurodivergent like myself. Advice and suggestions welcomed #WritingCommunity #Imquerying

Being neurodivergent prevents me communicating effectively, which prevents me seeking a diagnosis, which makes me hesitate to use terms like 'neurodivergent' in relation to myself. I think right through the gap in which I'm meant to respond, so people think I'm rude or stupid.
