Can anyone point me to a resource for Ts totally new to whiteboarding? Like how to do the group work, have the kids discuss, then how to share out? Ideally physics but others ok too. I thought I saw something recently but can't remember :( THX! @modphys @modchem @AMTAteachers

Would a 78% on last year's AP Physics 1 be a 5?

@helenrey This is in the official CB Scoring Guidelines: 'Generally, double penalty for errors is avoided. For example, if an incorrect answer to part (a) is correctly substituted into an otherwise correct solution to part (b), full credit will usually be awarded.'

Is there any 'error carried forward' in AP1/APC grading? If they find the current in a) incorrectly, but use it correctly to find power but the answer is wrong? Sometimes all subsequent answers might be wrong, but the method is correct (and answers 'correct') Thanks!!

I know Vt reached when Fg=drag and heavier things have bigger Vt since more time(?) to accelerate and get faster before that balancing occurs-but why does 5 filters get to the ground faster? Having trouble seeing why vt is reached sooner than w/1 filter.? #iteachphysics #modphys

@treddtaylor @TrumanState Comb-binding handouts is my new obsession. It really makes me feel like I have my life together. I don’t, but it makes me feel like I do. 😂

@brianwfrank Your card sorts are one of the best multiple representation strategies. Students benefit from practicing how to translate among representations. I share them with teachers in all of my AP workshops and Summer Institutes.

@KimFreudenberg There are 9 full length AP Physics C exams from 2008, 2012-2019. The 2012 has been released and all of the others are "secure exams" available through the AP Physics Audit site and on AP Classroom.

For AP C how many real full-length practice tests are there you can give? And should I give one soon now that we have finished content so they can see where they are? And then a couple more at end of reivew? Ideas? #modphys #iteachphysics

AP Physics C @Shorecrest students engaged in gathering data for ‘Beats by’ SHM activity inspired by @cossettej project. Graphing, linearizing and matching the BPM challenge songs in one class period!

Calling all @Desmos @geogebra folks... How about a diagram/actual view of lens diagrams with ray diagram on the left, and what it looks like on the right. I'm realizing the cognitive load with ray diagrams for lenses (now that I'm actually looking in terms of cognitive load 😉)

@wesleyrm_76 Students that draw a 'diagonal' surface force (whose components are friction and normal) have received full credit on AP exams

Sometimes it's hard to explain to my students why certain forces can and can't go on an AP Physics FBD. Seems arbitrary that Gravity and Magnetism are "real" but not Centrifugal. Likewise, normal and friction forces are a single force, but the AP test never acknowledges it.

@DragonPhysiX I will add 'potential energy', this is a common mistake on AP exams. What do they mean? My students need to specify: gravitational potential energy or elastic potential energy.

@MrJoeMilliano @TheRealNickGil We do 9th grade Honors Physics then P2 in 10th grade then AP C in 11/12th (concurrent with AP Calculus). Another side perk, taking the SAT II Physics in the summer after AP exams before students start their Junior year.

@TheRealNickGil AP Physics 2 is nearly the perfect physics class. It’s a shame you have to go through AP P1 to get there.

From last night's Zoom with @AP_Trevor: No reduced content for all courses. Full length exams (MC & FRQ) both paper and digital. New 10 min AP Daily videos (2-3 topic) in AP Classroom start 9/1. AP Reading will be remote again #iteachphysics #apphysics
