What is human flourishing? This is my thesis question for the year.

These outputs will start to seep into our general knowledge. Facts will be mixed in with gpt “hallucinations.” And users will be none the wiser. What’s the long term view? A self-reinforcing cycle of research>faulty answers>human “learning” of misinformation>fed back to LLMs?

Kids are using it to research papers. Analysts are using it to gather data and populate tables. Businesses are using it to offer financial advice. And the outputs look human, authoritative, and correct. But unless someone is fact checking every line of output…

We need the Daniel Dale(s) of chatGPT outputs. Like, immediately. As in, alarm bells should be going off. Why? You can depend on gpt outputs for pattern finding, but you absolutely cannot depend on it to output facts.

I agree with this. But also, there's so many cases where we can put together an oversight board and just ...make standards.. I don't know why it is always presented as this impossible task. That's literally what happened in every other industry with a mature audit ecosystem.
