I’ve just learned that the behemoth labor historian Staughton Lynd has passed from this world. Staughton’s strong ethical commitments to a just world leave us with his powerful legacy. I’m so glad I had some time with him in Youngstown. Thank you, @dgorganize. Rest in Power. ✊🏾

There's not a worker group I come into contact with that doesn't cite George Floyd as a pivotal inspiration, not only two years ago but right now, for their ongoing and escalating racial justice organizing. Rest in power, Mr. Floyd.

Good morning! Last week, we reached a milestone: dues-payer *6,000* for this year! No check off, it's voluntary. Cesar Chavez said, even if all you collect is $1, you need to do it. Workers have to finance their own liberation. Here's to the 6K who are fueling ours:

You heard about college educated workers, who’s going to do the long read on the role of queer and genderqueer workers in the union surge? Cuz it’s real.

We need a far larger labor movement in addition to unions that hold better space for workers to share, connect, and grow around reproductive justice. We know the kind of space that right wing mega churches are holding around the issue.

Labor's unique power is not public advocacy, making campaign contributions, or getting out the vote. Its unique power is to withhold the labor that the economy depends on. The stakes of the abortion struggle certainly call for building out and expressing strike power.

Always remember that the Supreme Court identified itself as the court of the "conqueror". It was illegitimate that day it upheld the theft of Native land and it's illegitimate today.
