@aviationbrk Career captain here w experience out of LGA. The controller made an error, but the AC flight would have had all of its landing lights on. The Fire Truck driver failed by not visually confirming that the runway was clear before crossing. This is tragic. DOUBLE human error.

The professionalism of the controllers even during a mass casualty incident is insane. I don't know how they keep their voices steady while witnessing a tragedy on their screens. Absolute heroes under pressure.
This audio is going to be the most critical piece of evidence for the NTSB. Was it a communication breakdown or a technical failure? Someone clearly wasn't where they were supposed to be. Chills.
