@OurOwnNation Sadly, this situation was always going to happen. Either that day, tomorrow or next week. All this could have been avoided - both parties could have avoided this.

If over 25 000 fans attended the Harare Deby saying each person pays $5 x 25 000 that is $ 1 250 000 made on a single game and the price for winning the Castle PSL is $125 000 then the league should be closed because it doesn’t make any sense

Source: Wasu Post Mutare owes contractors US$3.5 million for roads. A bombshell report by City Engineer Maxwell Kerith has laid bare the city’s road funding crisis: 🛑 Central government committed around US$8 million** during the Sanganai Expo and Zanu PF Congress for five major roads. Not a cent has been received. 🛑 **US$3.5 million is now owed to contractors, who are still on site but working “very slowly” because they are complaining. 🛑 Only 16% of Mutare’s tarred roads are in good condition. A massive 247 km need rehabilitation or reconstruction. 🛑 The 2026 Zinara road rehabilitation budget? Just enough to do 1.1 km of Magamba Road – out of 8.7 km. 🛑 Total cost to fix the entire road network: US$110 million

The wife of Zimbabwe’s Vice President, General Constantino Chiwenga, Colonel Miniyothabo “Minnie” Baloyi, has been removed from her position in the Zimbabwe National Army’s military intelligence department and reassigned to the Commander’s Pool, a unit where officers are placed without specific duties. Colonel Baloyi was moved from her military intelligence post last week. Sources close to her husband’s camp say she has been victimised, while those aligned to President Emmerson Mnangagwa argue that the reassignment was necessary because she travels frequently with her husband. According to the source close to the President, the move allows her the flexibility to accompany the vice president without compromising operational responsibilities within the military intelligence department. Her change of station comes after Zimbabwean political scientist, politician, and ZANUPF strategist, Professor Jonathan Moyo, complained publicly on Twitter about someone very senior within the intelligence establishment leaking sensitive information. “It beggars belief that a respected VVIP at a respected state intelligence institution would be so reckless as to leak such sensitive information.” Former ZANUPF and independent MP Temba Mliswa also raised concerns about Colonel Baloyi’s presence within the army, arguing that because she is Zimbabwe’s Second Lady she should consider retiring from active military service. In a televised interview that circulated widely online, Mliswa said: “The problem that we have, which I must say to the nation, is that we also have the wife of the Vice President who is part of the intelligence of the army.” He went further and accused Colonel Baloyi of running what he described as a parallel structure within the military intelligence department. A close associate of the vice president said her movement to the Commander’s Pool could turn out to be a blessing as it will give her more flexibility and time to support political activities when the moment arrives. Traditionally, Zimbabwean presidents have placed out of favour senior police officers in the Commissioner’s Pool and out of favour military officers in the Commander’s Pool, where they are effectively sidelined and generally have no meaningful duties.
