@BigPRESTINA My bad for not checking well to see you actually won the national trials. But team Nigeria chose Usoro over you as Brume’s replacement which was a difficult call for them to make and not necessarily an error at their end. Better luck next time

Good morning, mutuals ☀️
Jeffrey Benson once said:
“You are the currency.
Your state of mind determines your ability to make money.”
Read that again.
A calm mind creates clarity.
Clarity creates better decisions.
Better decisions create money.
Protect your peace like your capital.
Because a calm heart isn’t just good for your health…
It’s a trader’s real edge.
Stay sharp. Stay steady. 💯

The 100m today was an absolute farce. First, they started the preliminaries by 11am. 6 heats on the women’s side, and 10 for the men.
Then, there was an extra round of development races as a result of athletes protesting the lack of competitions and unfair conditions.
The developmental races had over 15 heats, in total, and didn’t end till 1pm.
Finally, when it was time for the 100m heats, the athletes were called to the track around 3pm and the first race didn’t start till 5:27pm (I checked my timestamp for this).
An athlete I spoke to at the warmup zone said they had warmed up, cooled down, and might have to start all over. Some were even dozing off😨
Unsurprisingly, the disorganisation led to the postponement of the 100m men, which will significantly impact performances and those doubling.
The country expects elite results, but rarely sets up the conditions for them 🤦🏽♀️

One Nigerian athlete asked AFN to send him flight tickets to attend the national trials in Lagos, or he wouldn't come.
A reluctant AFN agrees to send tickets, then the athlete started making a case for a female athlete (believed to be his girlfriend), "what of her own flight ticket?"
AFN then replied that she had not run any spectacular time this season, so she is not entitled to get a ticket.
Seeing that AFN wouldn't shift grounds and purchase two tickets for them, this athlete suddenly became incommunicado, and wouldn't let the federation know if they should proceed with just his own ticket.

@El_PasoCapita @TrackGazette @mogopodi_2002 6th my bad. You said he was nowhere to be found and you’re wrong as he made it to the finals and finished 6th best in the entire world, so please do your research first before assuming.
English

@diamondjoshh @TrackGazette @mogopodi_2002 He was second from last finishing sixth with a 10.00 time it’s too early to be blatantly lying like this …
English

@El_PasoCapita @TrackGazette @mogopodi_2002 He finished 5th at World championship finals last year. Do your research

World Athletics really helped Nigeria with that ruling that stopped Favour Ofili from switching to Turkey.
By now, there would have been an exodus of Nigerian athletes to the Middle East or very rich countries.
The chatter I got, is that some Nigerian athletes "faked injuries" before and at the African Championships, because these athletes believe they could still switch to other countries, and don't mind the long wait.
Running in Accra, would have tied them to Nigeria much longer, so avoiding the competition maybe shortens it for them (or so they feel).
English

@SelyneStyles @TrackGazette Tbh I would do my research before competing in an event and see the type of investment they made towards it before going because you can tell this event was with minimal investment or effort….

Kevin O’Leary thinks the highest paying job right now is customer acquisition on social media
“I used to pay those guys $48,000, now I’m paying them $250,000 because you can measure their work based on customer acquisition every week”
“Most of them become contractors, they make half a million dollars a year because they know how to take content, turn it into a 59 second ad on social and acquire 200 customers”
“Those people in their early 20’s are so valuable now. If you know how to use your phone, somebody wants to hire you”
