I was raised with the Kentucky values of treating everyone with respect and looking out for our neighbors. It's the right thing to do.

Many times, action is not the riskiest path — the riskiest path is inaction. Successful leaders have the courage to take action!

This has been my mantra since I was an AP and now as principal I feel it is my duty to make sure everyone knows their strengths. I must use those strengths to maximize their impact on our students, staff, and families. "The right people in the right place doing the right thing!"

Over the years in school leadership, I found that I struggled mentally in October and it continued through the fall. My wife and I now make it a point to get away for a few days every October. It’s been a gamechanger. Take care of yourselves and your families!
