@neil_treacy @MelissaPolloc19 Farrell could have put any of the players up to speak to the media on Tuesday. It didn’t have to be Crowley. Farrell knew that the selection of Prendergast was going to cause massive debate and putting Crowley up for media duty just added to it. Just seems so unnecessary.

@diarmuidhiggins @MelissaPolloc19 It's strange but not unheard of. I do recall one other player during 6N this year being sent out for media duties on Tuesday and not even being in the 23.

Hot take: Cian Healy is on record about how he hates being the centre of attention, so this out-half situation has been orchestrated by Andy Farrell as a smokescreen. Anybody with me? buff.ly/3ZvbTTO

@MelissaPolloc19 @diarmuidhiggins No, the point I'm making is comparing where both players were at when they made their Ireland debuts. There's a narrative that Prendergast has hardly played any rugby, and the point I'm making is that Crowley was similarly placed when he got a chance.

@neil_treacy Funny how he is only building depth @ OH. Explain Henderson,O’Mahony, Murray and Healy in almost every match day squad this autumn. Selecting them prevents younger players getting game time at this level. Why not play Casey again to make sure we have multiple SHs at test level.

@diarmuidhiggins Maybe he's playing better in training, maybe Farrell realises they need to have multiple OHs at Test level, only time will tell. Worth noting though that SP has played more for Leinster now than JC had for Munster when he got into the Ireland team in 2022.

@Murray_Kinsella So, according to this, Leinster were trying to dictate the rules to the volunteer 4th&5th Officals! Fair enough these officials are volunteers but surely they should not be influenced by one team or the other. There has to be some accountability here and it should rest with Ref.

"That shouldn't have happened." URC head of match officials Tappe Henning says Leinster v Munster should have been stopped to ensure Munster didn't erroneously go down to 14 players. Henning spoke to Graham Rowntree this morning. More here: the42.ie/6515781

@AlternativeMUFC I didn’t want him sacked at end of last season but things have got worse. Ten Hag’s team have no recognisable style of play & he is too loyal to some terrible players. need someone to come in to remind these overpaid pre Madonna’s what it means to play for Utd. Go get Ancelloti

Here comes the 'I said he should have gone ages ago' brigade. There's enough divisiveness and toxicity in this fan base already, do we really need to point score over who wanted him sacked first?

The writing is on the wall, we've been here many times before over the last 10 years. I've always defended this Ten Hag team from the argument of them 'throwing the towel in' and 'not playing for the manager'. Even the shitshow that was the end of last season ... I still didn't feel like the team was up to it's usual tricks of just simply not playing. After today, that optimism and defiance is in the bin. Today's performance could have been under Moyes, LVG, Jose, Ole or even Rangnick, and we wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. It was that shite and that relatable to every manager we've had who has unfortunately ended up playing their way in to an inevitable sacking. Pathetic, spineless, lazy, uninspiring and defeated from the start. Recency bias shouldn't be underestimated but I do honestly believe that this was our worst overall performance in a very, very long time. Considering we've lost 4-0 to Palace, 3-0 to Bournemouth, threw a 3-0 lead away to Coventry and have been pummeled 7-0 to Liverpool in recent memory, that's quite a fucking statement. He's had 5 transfer windows now and this is very much his team. The cup saved him last season with the league finish being swept under the carpet. I backed him and wanted to give him time due to the structure/injuries/general habit of restarting the manager merry-go-round. 6 games in to a new league season and it's as bad as it's ever been. We've lost 8 of our last 20 home league games and our away form isn't much better, or is it worse? I have no idea at this point and I don't have the energy to look it up. Porto away next, followed by Villa away. I just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've never called for a manager to be booted and I won't start now, but I'm not naive and ignorant enough to acknowledge that it's looking like he's not going to be in a position to turn this around and take us to where we are aiming to be. I'm as miserable tonight as I have been in many a year. Fuck this, I'm having another beer.
