Why are we STILL using MP3s in 2026????
It’s so low quality how can you even enjoy it with modern speakers and headsets? It’s like the audio version of SD quality for a movie. We really just need to drop that standard like it never existed.
You want something good? Use Flac. You should not compromise with such shitty music quality in a crap lossy container.

Spotify just lost its grip.
Someone open-sourced a self-hosted Spotify downloader that rips your entire library to your own machine.
Permanently.
As MP3s.
With full metadata, album art, the works.
It's called Spooty.
You point it at any Spotify playlist URL and it pulls every track down to local storage. No ads. No subscription. No "this song is no longer available in your region." No algorithm deciding what gets quietly removed from your library next month.
→ Connects to Spotify's official API to read your playlists
→ Grabs high-quality audio for every track on the list
→ Tags everything automatically: title, artist, album, cover art
→ Runs entirely on your machine, your credentials never leave your control
→ One command pulls a full playlist down
The whole thing is Python. Three steps to install. Clone the repo, install dependencies, plug in your Spotify API keys.
You're paying $11.99 a month to rent music that disappears the second you stop paying. This builds you a permanent library for $0.
100% Opensource.

@themagaking There is absolutely no way you cannot see that he is doing it on purpose.. That's the character he is playing. He knows perfectly well its part of his public persona.

It’s actually interesting that Elon Musk is the richest man in the world and still carries himself like the awkward little kid at lunch who doesn’t know where to sit. Most rich powerful men walk into rooms with entourages acting like superstars wanting everyone to look at them. Elon walks in looking like a fish out of water at the wrong party wondering why he even showed up while probably thinking about self driving algorithms while everyone else is socializing. There’s something weirdly real and endearing about it, like all the fame and attention just feels unnecessary to him.

@Paulosophy5150 @resisres What? Nuevo Leon is literally infested with BYD cars
English

@resisres Claudia made a huge mistake when she burned bridges with China. The failure of BYD and issuing sanctions against them is going to result in long-term repercussions and China won’t be there when we need them. And we will need them.

Dostoevsky was 28 when they stood him in front of a firing squad. Blindfolded. Hands tied. He could hear the rifles being loaded.
At the last second a messenger on horseback arrived. The Tsar had commuted the sentence. The entire execution was staged. Psychological torture designed to break him.
It worked. He had a seizure on the spot.
They sent him to a labour camp in Siberia. 4 years. Freezing. Starving. Sleeping on wooden planks next to murderers. His epilepsy got worse. He had no paper. No pen. Nothing.
When he got out he was broke. His first wife died. His brother died. He inherited his brothers debts. He was so desperate for money he signed a contract with a publisher that would have given away the rights to everything hed ever write if he missed the deadline.
He wrote The Gambler in 26 days to make it. Dictated it to a 20 year old stenographer named Anna. Married her three months later.
Then the real work started. Crime and Punishment. The Idiot. Demons. The Brothers Karamazov. The greatest novels in the history of the Russian language. Maybe any language.
The man who stood blindfolded before the firing squad, who convulsed on the ground while soldiers watched, who slept next to killers in Siberia for 4 years, who was buried in debt and grief.
That man wrote: "every minute can be an eternity of happiness."
He earned the right to say it.
its never over. never give up fren.

@BowTiedPassport Calling out something for what it is does not mean the person is "butthurt". Those were simply terrible and very erroneous takes.
English

People get butthurt over these posts, but the but the reality is, Mexico as a whole CAN NOT afford iPhones.
The median monthly income in Mexico is about $450.
US median is about $4,000.
An iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 in the US.
In Mexico, after taxes and tariffs, it’s roughly $1,600.
It would take the median Mexican over 3.5 months of their entire salary to buy one phone.
For an American, it's about one week of work.
Because of Mexico’s abysmal financial literacy, some people are on weekly financing models with up to 50% interest.
It should also be noted that nearly half of the iPhones in the country are second-hand imports from the US and Canada.
So, realistically about 5% of the country can afford to outright buy a new iPhone.
