Why this matters — and why it matters to you
Canada created its own Victoria Cross in 1993. It is the highest military honour this country can bestow — reserved for the most extraordinary acts of courage in the presence of the enemy.
In the 33 years since it was created, it has never once been awarded.
Not because Canadian soldiers haven't earned it. They have. During Canada's longest war in Afghanistan, our soldiers fought some of the most intense combat any NATO force experienced. Britain awarded 3 Victoria Crosses for Afghanistan service. Australia awarded 4. New Zealand awarded 1. The United States awarded 18 Medals of Honor.
Canada awarded zero.
At the centre of this campaign is the story of Private Jess Larochelle — a young man from Restoule, Ontario, who on October 14th, 2006, was alone at an observation post in Pashmul, Afghanistan when it was destroyed by a Taliban rocket. Two of his fellow soldiers were killed. Three more were wounded. Jess himself had a broken back, broken neck vertebrae, a ruptured eardrum, and a detached retina.
He got up. He kept fighting. He fired rocket after rocket at more than 20 insurgents until the Taliban retreated. He saved the lives of every remaining member of his company.
He didn't seek help until the next day — after he helped carry the casket of one of the soldiers who died beside him in a ramp ceremony.
Jess was awarded the Star of Military Valour — Canada's second-highest honour. Many who were there that day, including the commanding officer who led the counterattack, have said clearly and publicly that what he did that day met and surpassed every criterion for the Victoria Cross.
Jess Larochelle passed away in 2023 at the age of 40, still waiting for his country to answer.
We are not letting that answer be silence again.

Pearson airport doesn’t check any employees bags leaving work. Meanwhile I’ve seen Costco & Walmart check every employees bag as they leave their shift. Pretty crazy that they have better security than our international airport.

This man was pulled over and told by police that he had to come with them because a psychiatrist labeled him “certifiable.”
No paperwork, no rule of law, just a doctor saying that if he didn’t come with him right then and there that he would be arrested.

Watch this video from a serious environmentalist, your colleague possibly, who explains where to focus your attention: these eyesores that trample on our values. It's unacceptable!
If you can't tackle these eyesores and put an end to their illegal dumping and destructive practices, then stop your scams and consult your deportation minister.

Attention DANGER, si vous avez prévu de vous rendre au Canada ! C'est le retour qui va poser problème.
Un énorme scandale se passe surtout à l’aéroport Toronto Pearson (le plus grand du Canada). Des employés corrompus pratiquent un échange de bagages ultra-simple :
1. Un passager enregistre sa valise normalement et donne son bagage à l’employé.
2. L’employé enlève l’étiquette du passager innocent.
3. Il la colle sur une autre valise déjà remplie de drogue (méthamphétamine, marijuana, etc.).
4. La valise drogue part donc sous le nom du passager innocent.
5. Souvent, les trafiquants cachent un AirTag dans la valise drogue pour la suivre.
6. Si tout va bien, un complice récupère la vraie valise du passager à destination (où elle arrive vide). Si la valise drogue est interceptée à l’arrivée… c’est le passager innocent qui se fait arrêter.
Le truc se fait en quelques secondes dans les zones aveugles (malgré les 3 000 caméras de surveillance).
Au moins 17 passagers innocents ont été touchés en une seule année (données compilées à partir de dossiers judiciaires, communiqués de police et sources policières).
Ces 17 cas sont seulement ceux où la drogue a été détectée. On ne sait pas combien d’autres échanges ont réussi sans être pris.
Destinations concernées : République dominicaine, Paris (France), Allemagne, Maroc, Bermudes, Philippines, Corée, Nouvelle-Zélande…
Beaucoup de ces pays ont la peine de mort ou des peines très lourdes pour le trafic de drogue. Les victimes ont eu de la chance que ça se passe parfois encore au Canada ou qu’elles aient pu prouver leur innocence.
Toutes les 17 victimes ont finalement été libérées, mais certaines ont passé des semaines voir des mois en détention à l’étranger.
Conseils de sécurité donnés par la police canadienne :
Prends des photos/vidéos de tes valises avant le check-in (y compris le poids).
Garde le reçu du bagage.
Utilise un tracker GPS (AirTag).
Prends en photo l’étiquette une fois posée.
