What if Claude never compacted, never forgot, and started thinking of *itself* for a change? To find out, I built Spotless, a zero-config memory proxy for Claude Code. github.com/LabLeaks/spotl…

@kevinroose Ha yes same experience — every time I drop a commit after about 9pm Opus unprompted goes, “Well that about does it for the night! Shall we pick this up next morning? 😴✨”

Claude Opus 4.5 is a remarkable model for writing, brainstorming, and giving feedback on written work. It's also fun to talk to, and seems almost anti-engagementmaxxed. (The other night I was hitting it with stupid questions at 1 am and it said "Kevin, go to bed.")

Spoke too soon — NOT an easy fix. Health checks failing on 3000 now.

@flydotio love your service but I think your `fly launch` fly.toml generator is bugged with Rails defaults. Sets up listener on 8080, but Rails wants 3000. Leads to failing health checks if you try to follow your Rails guide exactly. Easy fix but not a great first time DX!

@almonk Looks so sick! Also, love the autocomplete text detail. You should change it to “sandwiches” when you hover over it

@ID_AA_Carmack On the plus side, an astronaut breathing 5000ppm CO2 is still way smarter than 99% of the population.

I was surprised to see that the standard CO2 level on the space station is 4000 ppm, when it is commonly mentioned that levels above 1000 can cause measurable human performance decreases. They already scrub all the CO2 out, so why don’t they just ventilate faster and maintain a much lower, maybe even sub-ground, level? Do the zeolite bed adsorption efficiencies fall off that drastically at lower concentrations?

Llama 2 70B in 20GB! 4-bit quantized, 40% of layers removed, fine-tuning to "heal" after layer removal. Almost no difference on MMLU compared to base Llama 2 70B. This paper, "The Unreasonable Ineffectiveness of the Deeper Layers," was my airplane reading on the way to a conference earlier this week. It's very well written and the results are super interesting.

@MikaKaakinen @bebraw Eco dynos will work similarly to free today — pay $5/mo for 1000hrs shared across all eco dynos that sleep after 30min of inactivity. Useful for hosting lots of low-usage apps.

@bebraw I understand that 7$ per month is not much but do I have to pay it for every app I have? I have little more than 10 apps at Heroku.

@bebraw have any good advice? And how to pay. I have understood that you have for React Finland a paid Heroku account. How do you pay for that? Do they send an invoice in some way? Thank you for your advices!

@heroku a question on the new Eco plan. Is the $5 cost a single amount for as many eco dynos as you need, all sharing the hours? Or $5 per Eco dyno sharing the hours. It isn’t clear in the post or the FAQ.

@kieran_codes @k__k_g Back in my agency days I had a B2B CEO tell us we weren’t getting budget approved for user research because “we can assume I know exactly what the users want.” Guess if they still exist.
