@SNYtv Maybe just precautionary. Or maybe he’s hurt - lower leg & ankle is minefield confluence of bones & tissues. The foot via lower leg bears 2-3x body weight w/every step taken. Imaging of course to get clarity. Whatever it is @Mets will be careful. If hurt could be long time on IL.

@BrandonTierney Great observation. Volpe’s bad mechanics are very similar to those of Francisco Alvarez. He isn’t properly generating power from hips. As a trainer, mechanically it’s lower body injury waiting to happen. Coming off shoulder surgery he needs to understand that. Coaching matters!

The first :02 of this video tell you all you need to know about his struggles and inability to fix them thus far: as soon as he loads/lifts up front foot it immediately bails toward the 3B dugout. Sliders and changeups away at this level are automatic misses/weak contact. Issue #1 with his swing and approach as a pro.

@SNYtv All depends on what the purpose of the 2nd surgery was, and when it occurred. Lots of times ACL surgeries have follow-ups. Not a good sign but not time to panic - yet. Safe to say Week 1 availability could be in question though 🤔

@SNYtv I had a feeling when I posted this last night. As trainer I wouldn’t expect him back before All Star break/late July at best. All depends where tear occurred & if it’s full or partial, which will dictate surgery. Prayers for Alvy for speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹 🙏 x.com/difftakesports…

@SNYtv I noticed how he twisted his knees swinging a couple of games ago - not good. That happens bc he has poor hitting mechanics - esp no leverage from left leg/hip like a leg kick. Literally swinging out of shoes. Could be a meniscus or MCL sprain on surface. Non-contact = not good.

@diehardmetsnj @SNYtv Sorry to hear that. I’m a fitness trainer and have worked with many clients with that preexisting injury. It depends on where it occurs. It’s definitely not fun but of all possible tears in/around knee it’s the most manageable.

Terrific W by @Mets in AJ Ewing’s debut! However w/everyone in @Mets media orbit saying it’s good to bring him up for a much-needed “spark” - that’s a sad indication of the lack of heart and leadership on this roster. Isn’t that why @Mets paid all these new guys this year?
