‘Part-time’ GPs are not the problem Working less than ‘full-time’ in the UK it is likely they are working 35-40hrs a week doing 3-4 days work & paid less despite full-time hours (unpaid) A ‘full-time’ 5 days a week GP is doing 50-60hrs a week minimum & this is not sustainable

@SomersetWasBlue @DrSteveTaylor But how does spreading the same 40 hours of work over 5 days instead of 3 create more appointments?

@digital_gp_doc @DrSteveTaylor Eh? By what strange maths does significant proportion of GPs electing not to work full-time not equal fewer appointments nationally or, put another way - hypothetically - if all GPs worked full-time why wouldn't there be more appointments? Either that or there's no GP shortage!

@SomersetWasBlue @DrSteveTaylor But getting an appointment isn’t related to GP part time or fulltime working. There are numerous factors dictating why some people struggle to get appointments and why some practices can never meet demand
