The problem of the NFT space right now is lack of new buyers who are real collectors
There are likely 150K+ wallets who hold NFTs. Most of these came in during 2021-22 and have never sold until now
But being in 2021-22 also scarred these holders so they rarely buy new NFTs now
While data show 150K wallets holding NFTs, zooming in will show that there are likely just 30-50K wallets buying NFTs rn
That’s not enough to drive prices and interest up
On top of this, most of the current NFT buyers are already holders of other projects. There’s just little to no new people coming in at the moment
Given this, the mandate for NFT projects is clear: attract new buyers who would be collectors of your NFTs
This way you can increase activity, then holder base, then price eventually

We are at the bottom of a bear cycle.. on top of that, this past cycle largely skipped over NFTs, leaning into vehicles of faster speculation.
The thing is though, there is real substance here, outside of the speculation. Incredible art, membership, community, networking.
We are back to < 20,000 active NFT wallets, the lowest since February 2021. Everyone looking for reasons why the floor price is down on their favorite collection, and it really just boils down to numbers, simple supply:demand based on collection sizes and number of available NFTs.
In my mind, there is no path to zero for so many things in the NFT space, they are too culturally relevant and artistically powerful. So this is where you buy, and if you can't buy, this is where you hold on for dear life.

Someone has been quietly sweeping for six straight days and swept 25 two hours after my post from yesterday.
62 Flowers bought in total.
That’s interesting.
This is pure art from one of the world’s most established artists. No utility. No roadmap.
If you view them as digital artworks not speculative NFT projects the pricing starts to look very different.
Murakami’s physical prints regularly sell for $8k–30k.
The question I keep asking is:
Could Flowers become the first NFT collection by a blue chip traditional artist to truly break out?
And an even bigger question:
Could its artistic provenance eventually become strong enough to compete with Punks?
If the answer is yes, today’s prices may look ridiculously cheap in hindsight.
