we brought the Long Ladder and voila! Collected the rest of the float fossils. Unfortunately there is no sign of any in-situ material. Now comes the process of trying to fit 300+ pieces together…

They named the site ‘Postosuchus Supernova’ I’m told for a Chappell Roan song, but I think it’s because it exploded into a million tiny pieces. We excavated the debris cone and are screenwashing it for missing pieces. Next step: long ladder

Had the best time getting to do research in the field and collections @PetrifiedNPS this summer, it is so fulfilling to appreciate where the fossils I study come from and how they are cared for. Looking forward to many more field seasons!
