What happened to NFTs? I was on the BAYC Council at the age of 19 in 2022 appointed by the founders What were once the most popular crypto asset have now become a down only price chart Brands have not been able to align holder incentives with brand activations which has resulted in a consistently declining price over the years The top of the entire NFT market was the Otherside mint which was promised to be the start of the MetaVerse era People were paying over $6k just in gas fees on top of the $4k mint price in Apecoin At this time Apecoin was worth around $30 per coin and is now less than $0.25 Bored apes were $500k and now less than $17k Through all this the brands keep building new product lines and dropping new merch but the floor prices have not reacted positively They are essentially collectibles now rather than investments The community is still strong together and vibing and have accepted at this point that there is never going to be another NFT run like the 2022 rally

NEWS: Jeff Bezos has created a new AI startup where he will be Co-CEO. It's called Project Prometheus and has received $6.2B in funding, some from Bezos himself. The startup is going to build AI products for engineering and manufacturing in fields like computers, aerospace and automobiles. The company already has almost 100 staff, including researchers from Meta, OpenAI and Google DeepMind.

@BobLoukas This cycle feels off because tradfi replaced retail. Anything tradfi doesn't consider interesting will go to zero (it already started). Position accordingly.

Crypto is running scared, very scared. Vaporware can only be peddled for so long. Few want to be honest about this fact. Who’s left is just prior cycle holdouts, no new retail blood, all resorting to max extraction, greed/theft/crime, and PvP type games, thinly masked as revolutionary tech. Short-lived metas spring up to support short-lived runs. What is working are the “picks and shovels” that support vaporware speculation. Extraction. The contrarian sees such sentiment as an opportunity, marks of pullback nearing an end, and the perfect environment set for an explosive upside move. They may not be wrong, I honestly don’t know. 🤷‍♂️ But there is something lurking in crypto (pure gut feel) that isn’t right. Been that way the entire cycle. For me, holding anything other than Bitcoin here remains misguided, even if we’re on the eve of a new bull market rally for alt’s/crypto.
