We know that loud and busy emergency departments are not the best place for people dealing with a serious mental health crisis or drug and alcohol issues. That’s why we’re taking to the election our plan to build the first-ever specialised Mental Health Assessment Units alongside three of our busiest emergency departments. Combined with the other two already opened at the Queen Elizabeth and Noarlunga hospitals, there will be an extra 72 dedicated mental health rehabilitation beds for South Australians.
