@ellymelly It’s the single biggest influencing factor within our control. If we brought manufacturing back in would be automated and knowledge based. Yes we need cheaper power, yes we need to review workplace regulations. The problems are complex and so are the solutions.

I see a lot of conservatives calling for the revival of manufacturing. It's said 'power prices' are responsible. Create cheap energy. Magic manufacturing energy. But is this true? Or has the union movement ruined manufacturing forever? Thoughts?

The same Party that privatised our trains, trams and buses is suddenly pretending to care about public transport. Too late. They have zero credibility and can’t be trusted.

Serious question What should happen to people who sing into a megaphone “We got Charlie in the neck, in the neck. We got Charlie in the neck, in the neck” While fellow liberals clap and cheer for Charlie Kirk’s murder

@MayneReport Hi. The guests question was asking about how to redeem if they wanted to which we answered. Can you email us at info@clime.com.au to tell us about what happened with your voter form?

The chaotic 6 minute Clime Asset Management EGM just wrapped up. One “guest” slipped through with a written question but that was quickly ruled out of order by founder John Abernethy. My request for a Voter Access Code last night was ignored. They should use HIN for access.

@realDonaldTrump USA has sales tax at state and local levels that are the same as our 10% gst. It’s not a tariff and our environment protections mean we have fresh and safe produce if you need us as a back up. Your advisers must be morons.

@diprose_sam @TKoutsantonisMP @AlexanderDowner I doubt it but good to know you punch down. SA gets $1.40 for ever $1 of gst so what you mean is, you’re happy to spend WA and NSW cash on untested tech rather than run an effective health service in any state. Understood.

@Mic_Bara @TKoutsantonisMP @AlexanderDowner I am reasonably sure that I paid far more tax by aged 25 than you did. And knowing most of that goes to provide services to South Australian’s now, and some of it goes instead to building a better world for the next generation of South Australian’s, is fine by me.

.@AlexanderDowner fundamentally misunderstands the connection between Hydrogen & Green Iron production. It’s not about generating electricity with Hydrogen to run an Electric Arc Furnace. Hydrogen acts as a reductant in a chemical process through Direct Iron Reduction ( Fe3O4 + 4H2= 3Fe + 4H2O). It replaces coking coal. That’s how CO2 emissions are reduced. It’s this basic ideological rant that holds Australian industry back. Downer:%20The%20real%20reason%20Whyalla%20steelworks%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20turn%20a%20profit adelaidenow.com.au/news/opinion/f…

@TKoutsantonisMP 1) Australia’s debt to gdp is one of the lowest in the developed world. Gov can borrow build and sell power to the system. 2) Because private sector has a higher target ROI so it would cost consumers significantly more. Are you arguing against nationalised carbon zero power?

Questions not answered at the Dutton press conference on his nuclear plans. 1. Where is the $300B of tax payers money coming from for his nuclear generation? Higher taxes or cuts to services? 2. On Dutton’s assumptions why is it better for the Australian taxpayer to spend $300B rather than the private sector to spend $500B?

@PeterDutton_MP We fine adults for supply of alcohol and minors for not having a bus ticket. Restricting access is ok but laws should encourage personal responsibility. The proposal encourages circumvention while penalising everyone else. Do better.

@3AWNeilMitchell Economics. If you want to reduce crime and violence reduce financial stress. Crime is up around 11% in SA as well. The average mortgage belt family has lost $24,000 of their income to interest rate rises. It’s to much stress.

What puzzles me is that for 30 years )1990-2020) the rate of domestic murders halved. Nor there’s a tragic surge, up 30 per cent this year. Awful. Why? Is anybody looking at what changed? Is there an identifiable reason that can be addressed?

@climatecouncil Somehow we managed to both discover and invent nuclear power within 13 years 1938-1951, yet delivering a nuclear power plant will take “decades”. Friendly reminder - this post is bullshit.

@kity_katz @ShackelWill @AlboMP But you said there was a ban until there was a business case and now you say it’s not economically feasible? Imagine for a second that people are paying attention to what you write and then read back your own line of thought. Hint: it’s not a line, it’s a circle.

@Mic_Bara @ShackelWill @AlboMP There is no business case for nuclear power as a viable prospect in Australia, Michael. Which is why the ban on nuclear power will not be lifted any time soon.

The government has run out of excuses for keeping nuclear power illegal. During this interview with @AlboMP the hosts press him on why nuclear power is banned… Albo: “no one is saying that - hey, we want to invest in this [nuclear]. No one.” Host: “There's a rule that says you can't.” Albo: “No, that's because it doesn’t stack up.” Host: “Why do you need a rule if the business case doesn’t stack up, to ban it?” Albo: “Because it doesn’t stack up” Host: “Well, get rid of the moratorium, then” The lack of clear answers goes to show that the government’s only justification for defending the bans on nuclear power is politics. It is wrong to conflate the economics of nuclear with a principled position to just consider nuclear power. At this time, we need all options on the table, including nuclear power. @kity_katz @ShackelWill @AlboMP If you said? So, if I follow your trainwreak of thought correctly: no nuclear until there is a business case, but also, I don’t understand nuclear economics. Yet magically, billions are invested elsewhere. Does that mean you’ve done the business case already?

@Mic_Bara @ShackelWill @AlboMP If I said you demonstrated a lack of understanding about the economics of nuclear power, Michael, that's because nothing you have said has demonstrated any knowledge about the financing of nuclear energy plants.
