Julius Malema: The future of South Africa is the EFF, ANC and MK Party

Sad that you think developing your own language doesn't matter.
I pity you, for your language is part of your identity.
Irrespective of my language's origin, it's what we did with it that counts.
Think of it like this:
I bought a cheap knife from Spar, sharpened it and used it to carve a beautiful wooden sculpture, and sold it for large profit.
You bought the same knife from Spar, and haven't sharpened it once, used it to try and cut rocks and eventually let it lie and rust, eventually turning into dust.

The country's history curriculum could soon be overhauled, making way for a more African-centred approach to learning. Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube has gazetted a draft curriculum for Grades 4 to 12. It challenges the narrative that history in South Africa began with the arrival of Jan van Riebeeck. What do you make of the proposal to decolonise the curriculum? #TheSouthAfricanMorning #DStv403 #DStv194

@KagisoIsoboy @seg96638 @eNCA Oh like every black language?
It's an independent and developed language, with roots in those languages yes, but we developed it. How did yours go?
English

@AfricaBorwaPele @eNCA Right here in SA, where I belong. Born and bred.
Thanks for confirming.
English

@AfricaBorwaPele @eNCA Why, I'm at my house now? Thanks for the offer, but I am quite comfortable.

I'm with you on inclusion of pre-1652 history, but everything needs to be factual and verifiable. I don't want my kid to be told he's the product of racists that only want to see Bantus enslaved, because he isn't. He is his own man and master of his future, as I am sure you want your kids to not be the victims of their forefathers horrible past.
Education should be based on facts and truth, the good and the bad, unapologetic and hard.
English

@JJ_Stellies @AardvarkBloody How was apartheid education African-centred when it was preparing us to be servants and gardeners? South Africa was not discovered in 1652, there was life prior and indigenous knowledge that should be factored into our history books.
English

The biggest problem is that historically, Bantus did not evolve with the rest of the world. Yes, they were kept from learning - which is wrong and I don't want to repeat that. But then again, there is no African language (except Afrikaans) in which you can get a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) degree.
Do you see the problem? Instead of developing your own languages and people, you fall down the rabbit hole that is English and in the same process lose that which should be dearest to you; your language!
And that is what I have an issue with. I want my kids to be able to learn in Afrikaans, and you in your own! I want the history they teach, to be conclusive and all encompassing; not something that soothes your hurts but shows you the truth.
Not my truth, not your truth, the uncomfortable truth.
English

I don't care about the past. I care about the future of our children, and teaching them bullshit to carry a victim narrative does not enable them to look ahead, but roots them in pain.
Yes history hurts, yes it was brutal, yes it shouldn't be repeated, SO LEARN FROM ALL OF IT.
Don't exclude anything, tell the whole story.
I am not European, and I see myself as equal to other African tribes. I completely believe we can build more, but the foundation needs to be based on facts (however much they hurt) and then we can go forward.
English

Lower grade then is equal or less than standard level now, and the pass rate is just 5% more, but the quality of teaching is horribly distorted.
The government is corrupting OUR children's education.
What I meant with my post is not that I want MY history ingrained in all schools, but that is a part of SA history which shouldn't be "centralized" or altered.
Truth is the best teacher, lies breed inability.
English

I don't want my own history, I want the truth.
I don't believe that the government is able to tell the truth.
The only way they think that they can keep their positions of power is by blaming everything that is wrong with SA today, on something that's been dead for decades.
This whole idea of "African centered approach" is to keep you identifying as victims, so you will stay dependent.
Break free my guy, it's your turn to build.
English

@BadNews_Bongani @eNCA I'm not sparkly white, I've got a fantastic skin and I enjoy the sun, thanks! I don't need you to make me feel welcome, sir, I know where I belong and I am right where I need to be.
English

@vusiphala32 @eNCA Yeah I'm not rolling in the money like the ANC guys, able to send their kids to the best private schools which - and oh the irony - teach them everything our public schools don't because the curriculum is the equivalent of a certificate written on toilet paper.
English

@Azanian00 @eNCA I have kids in school, of course it involves me. Tell me how this issue needs you, and I'll tell you how it needs me.
English

@GalacticMageba @eNCA Why am I racist? Because I don't want my kid to learn lies? Try another insult, racism is so 90's.
English

Reject that mindset Bru, immediately.
You are not your color.
Your potential stops where you accept it.
But I disagree, SA was not in a disadvantaged position at the end of apartheid, it had potential. Potential which we all dreamed and hoped for, and for the first fee years after, saw coming into effect... And then the Cadres came into power.
30 years after apartheid ended, SA is a worse shape than it has ever been, and the leaders are still trying to blame apartheid.
Harsh truth of life is we have to work hard to get somewhere. If you don't get opportunities, make them. You can be that man you envisioned yourself to be 💪🏼
English

Growing up in South Africa, I saw this reality—because it was manifestly true. Black South Africa was in a very disadvantaged position when Apartheid ended. That’s an undeniable fact.
However, deep corruption and mismanagement—over the years since—has done a number on the country.
Now it’s becoming much harder to point the finger at Apartheid as the sole culprit behind the disparity of wealth between White and Black folk.
As a kid, I dreamed of moving to America. All I wanted was better opportunities. That’s it. Not handouts.
“Where else were there more opportunities than the US?”, I pondered.
But as I got older, it became increasingly clear that even with better opportunities, Black people still struggle. Or at least, “Black people are struggling” is the narrative I hear in any country with a sizeable Black population. Even here in Europe, with all the cushy welfare, it’s still the same.
Apparently having my skin tone instantly makes you a victim. You have no agency or ability to strive for a better life. Life just happens to you.
I’m so over it.

Mayor Mamdani just said it out loud: "The wealth of a median white household in the city is more than $200,000, while that of a black household is less than $20,000." Ten times the wealth. Same city. Same century.
