Alice Weidel: "They ship countless billions to one of the most corrupt regimes on Earth: Ukraine. To prolong a war that is not ours. They stand with Kyiv even when the regime blackmails, threatens, and physically attacks vital infrastructure inside EU member states." What a vile, lying russian shill. Not once has she called out russia for its invasion, for murders, for the abduction of children, for the razing of cities, or for any of the thousands of war crimes. Please, dear Germans, do not vote for this fascist.

If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

We are now forced to close intake and not help anymore cats until we find homes for the adoptable cats in our care. We literally have no more space and I'm having to say no to cats who will die without us. all these kittens are still here. Please share. 📍 SF Bay Area

🚨 SF BAY AREA it makes me very sad that we still have 8 perfect, healthy big kittens growing up mostly in an enclosure here at the rescue. They should be cuddling on someone's lap, zooming around, being happy babies. Soon they'll be a year old and still sitting here, waiting 💔

Around this time of year, I always remember this picture of the Kharkiv railway station four years ago and the people desperately trying to evacuate. It was the first few weeks of the Russian full-scale invasion. Our air defense wasn't properly established yet, and Russian bombers were free to drop air bombs. Oh, how can I describe to you, my dear reader from a peaceful country, what it is like to be targeted by airbombs on top of artillery and missiles? The sound is deafening; the destruction is massive. Every time you hear a fighter jet flying low, you freeze in fear like a deer in the headlights, not knowing where it will drop its deadly cargo. And there is a lot of bombs. I remember staying in my parents' basement, too afraid to leave. I recall thinking I needed sleep to keep from losing my mind, but the explosions just wouldn't stop. After one particularly loud night, my cousin called and said, "My district of Kharkiv no longer exists." The district still stood, but it had been so heavily damaged by bombs in a single night that it was unrecognizable. A few hours after our conversation, this picture surfaced. It wasn't my cousin overreacting; it was russia genuinely trying to raze Kharkiv to the ground. This is what drove those people to flood the train station. Russia would have proceeded and succeeded, had their bombers not started dropping like flies over Ukrainian cities. When Russian propaganda tells you they are being "gentle" and that the war is taking a long time because they do not want to cause destruction, remember this picture. they would have destroyed us, if they could.

I didn’t lose my ability to see beauty. Moreover, the war taught me to see it everywhere. Beauty is not a distraction. It shows how amazing our planet is. The one we should protect.

Days like these, the videos and events I see coming from the cities of my country, fill me with a raw, wild hatred and anger - every single time, without fail... This war has changed Ukrainian life; it has changed the people themselves. No matter how hard we try to remain "good people" (in a sense), this hatred sits inside each of us: for some, it’s buried deep; for others, it’s right on the surface. Sometimes or even often, this anger flares up at the worst possible times and affects the people around us. I’ve become that way myself. I remember so well the years before 2022, when I looked at everything differently - at life itself, and the value of a human life. But now, looking back at these passing years, it’s clear how much this has changed me and my nation as a whole. I truly hope 🙏🏻 that everyone living in Ukraine can overcome this hatred within themselves and not let it destroy them from the inside, because living with these feelings is a heavy burden. Some of you may be wondering, "What about the russians? Can they be forgiven?" If not now, then at least someday... I think it's best not to ask such questions, lest we see the utter hatred and rage that live within each of us, even when we're not aware of it. It's best not to awaken a sleeping beast, or one that's already on guard.

When you hear about the war in Ukraine, this is what you should remember about russia's actions and what Ukrainians are going through. This missile strike happened on February 22nd, last Sunday. This is what it looked like in the heat of the moment, not after the fires had already been put out. In those minutes, neighbors were nearby trying to help; brave people appeared who weren't afraid of the fire, entered the burning building, and helped save a family. This is how eyewitnesses from that street in Kyiv describe that day. Just remember: when you watch the news from Ukraine, most of the horror remains behind the scenes. The world only sees the aftermath, not the first minutes following the shelling of peaceful neighborhoods where families sleep. No one hears the screams or the terror in people's voices. The woman filming this was in shock... she kept crying out, "My God, people, how can I help?" But we are just ordinary people... who were simply unlucky enough to live next to those who do not know how to live in peace in this temporary physical form of life.
Katerina Horbunova@blue_eyedKeti

A reminder to the world that absolute evil exists. If russia wanted to stop the war or at least cease fire, it would have done so, because it is russia that is attacking Ukraine. It is their troops that are storming our positions, it is their drones that fly every night, it is their ballistic missiles that are hitting us. But russia is not doing this.

So tired of leaders praising Ukraine yet proposing nothing to stop Russia. I propose a new rule for Ukraine conferences, the Bavovna House Rule: For every time you praise Ukrainian courage, you must make one new, concrete proposal of what we can do to break Russia’s war machine.

Yet Merz is delaying Europe's rise as a great power. Delaying on eurobonds, federalism, military integration etc. German conservative boomers can't imagine a world in which they're not US vassals. But they will be dragged into the new world anyway
Clash Report@clashreport

German Chancellor Merz on China: China has risen into the ranks of the great powers. No one can bypass China anymore. Global political challenges cannot be managed today without Beijing. China’s voice is heard — including in Moscow. China has the opportunity to use its influence. For peace and security in the Pacific, China is a decisive factor.
