It took 12 mins for Westmin to veto the Scottish Parliament's referendum vote. This is a test of the backbone of the independence movement. Will there be a demand to call a Holyrood Election for independence. Key crossroads. Does Scot Gov call or veto election for Indy?


Well that was quick & expected. No time to ponder over it, no time to engage, just outright rejection - but then again what do you expect? Colonies are never listened to by the colonisers.

NEW: John Swinney has said that today's vote on independence powers 'is the start of a process that I believe will lead Westminster to say yes to a referendum, and Scotland to a yes to independence'


Independence is a means to an end. I've seen far too much progress halted over the last twelve years - Scotland can do better.

Scotland has spoken, returning a clear pro-independence majority to Holyrood. Unionist parties must respect that!

The Scottish people didn't vote for a Labour government..

Surely it is unsustainable that we can have a third parliamentary term where no progress is made on the defining issue of our national politics? There has to be a way we can work together to move this forward.
