Unless an international issue has a direct impact on the safety or interests of your city, it should not be a political priority. Yet both Mamdani and Khan have devoted a disproportionate amount of time to Gaza, Israel, and Israeli politics. Why? Because they're Muslims. Their ideological loyalties come first. What's more, the greatest security threat facing both of these iconic cities has been radical Islamist terrorism. Is that something Mamdani or Khan ever meaningfully address? No. At most, they'll speak vaguely about "terrorism," carefully avoiding the phrase Islamic terrorism.
