@n8enough @BarredinDC We just asked for their ID scanner logs to corroborate that we actually scanned the IDs and that their logs reflect the same false information. This was submitted with exhibits of them drinking at those establishments

Dirty Water’s ongoing dispute about the fake ID issue continues. ABRA Board denied request to require the 2 dudes with a fake ID to testify and also denied request from comparator evidence of other bars dealings with the same customers fake IDs

@ShawnChittle @BarredinDC And I don't really think being in a dark bar is a defense for us tbh. We're usually black lighting (all the UV and holograms were present) these so any effects that lighting would have would be minimized by that

ABCA said essentially a reasonable person would think these are fake IDs and dinged Dirty Water for accepting them. Would do you think?

@ShawnChittle @BarredinDC I mean yea it sticks out but I don't think it's outside a generally accepted variance larger do you? At least you wouldn't call someone unreasonable for taking it? And fwiw, the issue was with the # not being straight across, which is obviously not the case with the sample either

@BarredinDC This is why I tell my team to scan IDs in our system if at all possible. If the machine reads it and the pic matches, I think it’s reasonable to believe it’s real

@thebeltwayboy @WMATASoldier @BarredinDC The allegations of being misaligned were related to the Vermont ID, not the New York one. The only allegation pertaining to New York ID is that is was so "fuzzy" that you could not tell the photograph contained in the identification that was shown did not match the bearer

@dirtywaterdc @WMATASoldier @BarredinDC You have to look really closely to notice that the DOB and expiration date on the New York license aren’t aligned. At first glance, especially the sort of quick glance that one would expect from a bartender, they look real.

Dirty Water on H Street unsuccessfully argued in a motion for reconsideration to the Alcohol Commission that an I.D. having a "fuzzy" photo, partially scraped off signature and a misaligned font with a suspicious gap, would not appear fraudulent to a reasonable person.

@WMATASoldier @BarredinDC Here is the statutory definition regarding "fuzzy," specifically (C). If you truly believe that you wouldn't be able to recognize the person in the photograph if either of those people appeared in front of you, you probably shouldn't be allowed in public unsupervised

@WMATASoldier @BarredinDC This is what we're talking about here. Do those photos look "fuzzy" to you? What part of the signature is missing, and what signature is it supposed to be compared to in order to determine a part was missing? Also Please identify for me the supposedly misaligned font

Takeaway from replies: Most bars/restaurants aren’t doing as welll as you think they are but basically everything Bub and Pop’s does makes it seem they don’t care about maximizing sales
