@wspd2pio @wastatepatrol I wonder if there are any formal studies that show the effect of emergency lights and the moth-to-flame effect particularly in drivers on substances illegal when driving.

At 5am this morning an @wastatepatrol trooper had just cleared a traffic stop and was sitting on the right shoulder NB I-5 just near 320th with emergency lights on. A vehicle came onto the shoulder and struck his vehicle. Minor injuries to both. Female driver arrested for DUI.

Fireworks are illegal in Seattle and can have unintended consequences including major property loss and significant injury, or in worst case scenario, death. Residents are encouraged to find other ways to celebrate the holiday or instead visit a professional fireworks show.
