@808_38hz @PalmerLuckey I look at it as an independent factor. Regardless of the fuel, a computer should be able to optimize. You could have intersections, with no traffic lights. Because a computer could time cars passing thru, without coming to a stop. I don't have any data, just imagining it :)

Do you have data on that? Because the studies I read on ICE vs EV suggest it’s all EV being a stronger torque/weight and energy conversion/recapture. I take your point that a computer can definitely do a better job than a person on fuel efficiency maximisation in either format, no doubt. But I would be surprised if a computer driven ICE even gets within 50% of a human driven EV.
