you sure can but the key deciding factor is you have to have a majority to accomplish it and you are not even in the realm of being the majority so that only makes you domestic terrorists if you try and do it physically...so wake up because if you don't like Alberta as it is and where it's going with the UCP then my advice is leave!

Canada can't drop the hammer on X they can only drop the hammer on free speech and your right to see X. X is an American company so Canada can't do anything legal against X only stop the citizens of Canada from access it. Just like the other communist countries that block access to it!

The problem with these people pushing for a legislative decision is they know that if they let the people of Alberta decide our own fate then it will collapse in a resounding and overwhelming vote in favor to separate. So they try to make it seem like @daniellesmithSL is a separatist if she puts it to a referendum and allows the people to choose our fate. Because the 14% of the registered voters that signed their petition is probably 70% of all the voters that will support their referendum if it goes to a vote. So I think you are a little delusional if you think that you represent the majority of Albertans...

Never since 1905, when Alberta became a province, was a petition with nearly half a million signatures tabled in the Legislature. Never was a Premier presented with such clear choice between right and wrong. Premier, do the right thing. Avoid a divisive referendum. #ableg

So my question to anyone out there. If everyone has a blood right to the land they first laid a single footstep on...where is the bloodland of the white people? If you have any intelligence this question in itself should answer how ridiculous Blood lands are, but by all means let me hear your answer..

What never surprises me is you woke minority groups always use the term "Most of us Albertans". You do not represent the majority of Albertans and never will. The reason the government we have now is in place and these decisions get made is because the true majority of Albertans are being represented the way we wanted and expected from our premier. This is exactly what we voted for and exactly what will keep the UCP the majority government in Alberta. So if this is not what you expect from your government they I suggest you choose to leave, because things are only going to move further from a woke debacle once Alberta separates.

This is the face and mind of a great leader that use use logic, intelligence, morality and integrity to lead. She follows the desires of the people and province she represents. Canada would still be the greatest most desirable country in the world instead of the shit hole it has become in the last 10 years, if our federal government had half the integrity and intelligence she has. But have no fear in a year Alberta won't be Canada's concern anymore and you woke people can leave it and crawl into the depths of Canada and live your lives the way you want.

When The New York Times is covering our government’s attacks on trans people, you know Alberta has become an international embarrassment ⬇️ The face of a true modern day, authoritarian #Noqueens @nytimes I wonder how she sleeps at night, but I assume it’s very well. Well the rest of us can’t sleep because we are watching our province be destroyed by ideologies, Contempt and a clear agenda that most of us didn’t vote for💁🏻‍♀️

There is no charter of rights for trans people...there is only a charter of rights for people. The trans community has no right to special treatment for choosing to support their own beliefs. I encourage all trans people to jump back on the wagon you liberals all jammed down our throats 4 years ago...remember this famous saying you all screamed from the roof tops "Follow the science!" Well now it applies under real science. There is no such thing as Trans-children. Only confused hormonal kids with bad influences.

This is a heartbreaking moment in Alberta and a devastating moment in Canadian history. For only the second time, a provincial government has invoked the notwithstanding clause to suspend the Charter rights of transgender and gender diverse people, targeting youth with policies designed to erase their dignity and deny their freedom. Premier Scott Moe set the precedent in Saskatchewan, and now Premier @ABDanielleSmith has taken it further. What Alberta passed today is more sweeping, more invasive, and more nefarious than anything we have seen before in this country. This is not about parental rights, nor is it about safety or equal opportunity. This is hate, directed at some of the most vulnerable young people in Alberta and Canada. Danielle Smith and @Alberta_UCP has made Alberta a more dangerous place to live as your true and authentic self. Alberta should be better than this. Check in on the transgender and gender diverse people in your life. Your friends, neighbours, colleagues, classmates, and teammates. We need each other, now more than ever. @nenshi @JanisIrwin @RachelNotley @NDPJulia @CourtEllingson @joececiyyc @LtGovAB @LukaszukAB @ryanjespersen @KathleenGanley @CarlaBeckSK

In late 2024, Alberta’s government passed legislation to preserve the choices of children and youth, improve access to health services and protect children, families, and parental involvement in the education system. Since passing this legislation, three lawsuits have been filed by activist organizations, with one injunction already in place. Alberta’s government has been clear all along – we are prepared to use every legal and constitutional tool available to protect the health and well-being of children. If passed, Bill 9 the Protecting Alberta’s Children Statutes Amendment Act, will invoke the notwithstanding clause to: ✅ Preserve the future choices of children and youth ✅ Strengthen the role of parents as a child’s primary caregiver ✅ Ensure fairness and safety in amateur competitive sports.

I have a question for you...Why should the rest of us Albertans have to cough up our tax money so you can get your free poison shot? I don't get the choice to decide where my tax money goes for our province but I am glad to hear it doesn't go to pay for you to get a medical procedure that is useless. If you believe it does you any good then pay for it yourself, or go find another province to live in that will poison you for free.

No you hate Trump because he doesn't support the Bullshit you support. If a 12% raise isn’t enough for teachers who aren’t exactly knocking it out of the park with their work quality, then by all means... go find another job. The average teacher in Alberta makes around $86K a year for about 200 working days. Meanwhile, the average oil worker pulls in $63K and works longer hours, tougher conditions, and far fewer holidays. So if teachers think they deserve more money for fewer days and easier work... all while underperforming... then explain to me how that makes sense. I’ll wait.”

The Charter does not give the teachers' union the right to extort an additional $2 Billion from Alberta taxpayers while holding our kids' education hostage. If teachers don't want to work 200 days a year while still getting a 12% raise, they can quit and find a full-time job.
Jared Wesley@DrJaredWesley

Let's be clear about what happened today. Premier Smith introduced a bill to strip Albertans of Charter rights, denied MLAs the opportunity to debate it and the courts the ability to scrutinize it, and did all of this from her seat on a jet to Saudi Arabia.

I’m beyond sick of this bullshit. Name me one country...just one...that still belongs to the people who originally lived there. You can’t. Every piece of land on this planet was taken, traded, conquered, or sold at some point. That’s history, not hate...it’s just how humanity works. This is Canada. It’s not ‘on native land’ anymore. The Indigenous peoples are citizens we support and respect, but let’s not twist the facts: many of their ancestors sold this land because they didn’t believe it could be owned. When they realized it could, they wanted it back. But history doesn’t rewind because some greedy natives had a change of philosophy. They fought for territory just like everyone else did before we ever showed up. We built a nation here...roads, cities, schools, and industries. Without us, most of it would still be untouched wilderness. If they truly want the land the way it was, there’s plenty of open country in the North...go live that life. Otherwise, if you’re here, be Canadian, and be proud of it or shut the fuck up. Because this is the country we all share now, and it's called Canada.

Every single inch of this entire planet was settled or conquered from someone else except for the garden of Eden. So who really has claim to anything if you go back far enough. For example the only people to have laid foot on the moon are the US so does that mean the Moon belongs to the US? No it doesn't...if you were the ones who settled and developed it then it is yours. So if you can't take it back then...Fuck off!

Oh wow, breaking news: there’s a magical way to support yourself without begging, whining, or waiting for the government to pat you on the head. It’s called… brace yourself… getting a job. Yes, shocking, I know. You put on pants (usually required), show up somewhere (wild concept), and in exchange, they give you money. Not Monopoly money. Real, spendable, rent-paying, burger-buying, bill-covering cash. And the best part? Once you’re employed, you don’t need to complain online about “the system keeping you down.” Turns out the system doesn’t actually hate you...it’s just waiting for you to clock in at 9 a.m. So if you’re tired of being broke, here’s the ancient secret passed down from generations of people who somehow managed to survive without TikTok pity points: get off your ass, get a job, and support yourself. Revolutionary, I know.
