Very sad, not surprising and now will require an enormous amount of effort to undo the inevitable damage in the U.S. where the main Irish governing parties have extremely poor real access to the incoming administration and where even their best and genuine friends are jaded with having to explain for them. If ever the new coalition needed to take a hint to drop all the leftie loonies and tack to the centre right, this is it. Ireland needs to add real small c conservatives to its incoming government because the winds of change are blowing everywhere.
