People are way too sure that the 33rd overall pick “isn’t good.” For what it’s worth – De’Zhaun Stribling was productive as a true freshman (44/471/5; 3rd on his team in receiving). He led his team in receiving yards & TD's as a SO. (51/602/5). Suffered a season-ending wrist injury as a JR. – but led his team in receiving yards (2nd in receptions & TD's) as a redshirt-JR. (52/882/6). Transferred to Ole Miss for his final season & finished 2nd on the team in receptions & yards; 1st in TD's (2.15 YPRR; 78.8 PFF Receiving Grade). He’s a decent YAC-threat (career 6.0 YAC/reception; .175 MTF/reception). Good athlete (4.36 40, 36" vertical at 6'2 1/8"/207). & not a horrendous route-runner (44th, 17th, & 52nd percentile vs Man, Zone, & Press, via @RecepPerception). He also received a fairly solid 6.28 NFL.com Grade. & SF has a wide-open starting spot with Jauan Jennings’ departure. Let’s make one thing clear – SF definitely overdrafted him. But he’s still probably better than your favorite “sleeper” who fell all the way to Day 3!
