Marquette finishes 12-20 but the downhill slide in only temporary. Shaka can coach and the Eagles have a core of good young players and the assurance of Big East Freshman of the Year pg Niguel Wallace he is coming back for sophomore season. Wallace had 18 and 7 assists and Richard Pitino was forced to mix up defenses from man to zone in an attempt to slow him down.

Yes, guys like Love, Tom, Parsons, are better players, but I don't think you can understate how big the loss of Wyatt was to this defense. DT was already somewhat thin when Clark was dealt, but his loss has been huge in terms of stopping the run.

@abnercasanova1 “Late in the cycle” is an indictment on the system. The championship game was, checks notes, YESTERDAY!! Two comments… more players could enter the portal seeing a chance to go to UW and the two incoming freshmen OHs just might be the real deal. Time will tell.

Losing Una Vajagic hurts only because it is relatively late in the cycle. I hope Sheffield has someone lined up to upgrade and that’s why she left. Otherwise, that’s a big loss for a team that on paper should be one of Kelly’s best teams in a while.

Regarding forward progress: My personal opinion is that St. Brown’s progress stopped around 0:02. If it would have been ruled that way, the Steelers would’ve just declined the penalty and it would have resulted in a turnover on downs (since St. Brown clearly does not score).

At the end of #PITvsDET, the ruling on the field was: A completed catch, a backwards lateral, and a touchdown by Detroit. There was a flag thrown for offensive pass interference. The clock was at 0:00 when the touchdown occurred and because the penalty was committed by the offense, the game is over and the touchdown does not count.
