@GNet550@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 Again, I never said geography should not be a consideration. Would not support Angola to Evansville in a sectional. But to say that proximity is the only thing that matters is ludicrous because teams travel all the time. We’ve had weeknight conference games that take an hour
@djd_og@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 3)if you want byes, sure I can go with that but changing sectionals because there are too many communities close together that have good programs…I don’t buy into that.
When is @IHSAA1 going to restructure postseason play? 5 teams ranked in the top 25 in 4A baseball done after this weekend because they all play in the same sectional… joke.
@GNet550@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 Let me understand this. Your argument to throwing out the regular season for the sake of geography in the Sectional round is… a tennis team having a graduation conflict for the SEMI-STATE?? To your argument the only solution would be no spring sports.
@djd_og@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 I’m saying because of travel a tennis team from Sullivan was going to have to miss graduation because of the start time fermi-state due to travel length. Lucky for them someone stepped up and flew them in a private plane…sending teams further distances could cause this
@GNet550@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 They already played better, over the course of 30 games. That should matter. Please define what you mean by “choose between sports and graduation.” I haven’t heard that before as a reason to make the regular season meaningless.
@djd_og@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 2.)choose between sports and graduation because thing get over looked hand someone not came forth for them. It’s ridiculous to ask a team to travel more than an hour and half for sectionals just because a handful of teams are in the same area that are good..as you say play better
@GNet550@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 Consider CWS if all SEC teams had to play each other in the Regional Round. That would mean only one of LSU/Florida/Arkansas/Vanderbilt/Tennessee/Ole Miss would advance. Would be great for the B1G and other inferior conferences since they would have a much easier road to Omaha.
@GNet550@Van_Strike@ScottGr34317465@IHSAA1 The post is not about teams getting “beat” in the sectional. It’s about the EVERY year clumping of one sectional with top programs and skewing to the advancement of less-deserving teams. Only thing those teams did to deserve advancement was NOT be in Hamilton County/Zionsville.
@BlakeHaynie522@Van_Strike@IHSAA1 Coaches poll I agree. MaxPreps computer poll accounts for SOS, other factors, I disagree. Don’t know a thing about Wawasee baseball, but imagine winning 20 games in the hands down, not even close, best conference in the state - reward playing in sectional where LOWEST team is 27
