Baseball fans calling for a salary cap are making a mistake. A cap doesn't magically create competitive balance, it just gives owners another reason to keep more money. If an owner isn't willing to invest in players now, why would a salary cap change that? There will never be a salary cap in MLB. The MLB Players Association is the strongest union in professional sports, and the players have no incentive to accept one. People point to the NFL and NBA, but both have salary caps and plenty of franchises still haven't won championships. In MLB, only one current franchise, the Mariners, has never reached a World Series. A salary cap isn't the answer. Owners who are committed to winning already spend. Owners who aren't will find another excuse not to.

Just evicted a tenant. Not all fun and games being a landlord... 1 person and her kid... turned into 6 people, no pets turned into dogs and cats.. Full repaint, new stove, new floors... fun fun. For those with a memory, they also set my garage on fire. The sharp eyes will see they thoughtfully placed diapers face first on the floor. As a parting "fuck you" they turned off the water and left shit in the toilets and broke the utility box as they were leaving today, in front of the cops... no consequences for the last one "its civil"

@atrupar Data centers can absolutely bring investment and construction jobs, but that’s only half the equation. Communities also deserve an accounting of the permanent jobs created versus the long-term demands on power, water, land, infrastructure and ratepayers.

@atrupar Exactly. As far as industrial sites go, data centers are the best neighbors. They are quiet, they don’t pollute, they don’t bring a lot of traffic, they are just there, paying your tax bills.
