@waldenpod Determinism or not, nothing is morally “good” or “bad” in any objective sense. Period. Moral positions are at their core conditional on one’s conscience (feelings). What explains the universality of many (but not all) moral positions is our shared evolved consciences.

“If determinism is true, then nothing is good or bad” is one of the most obvious non-sequiturs imaginable, but it appears to be very widely believed!

I’m surprised at how many people genuinely have no clue how a person could be against killing innocent babies and for the judicial killing of murderers. It’s not that they disagree. It’s that they genuinely don’t get the logic. They mock and ridicule but don’t get it. This is the result of propaganda taking the place of thinking in our culture.
