My Conservative child chose a small, private, Christian based university. My daughter chose a liberal arts university. No explanation needed here…I guess, as to why my children are so different. They grew up in the same household…both saw our struggles and triumphs.

This doesn't feel right. 2024 Model 3 Performance with 7300 miles. Garage kept in SE Michigan. I drive it all the time. It sat for 2 days in my garage and I came out to this. Anyone want to tell me this is normal? Rotors were locked and grinded all the way down the driveway 😬

@matt_vanswol The irony is who do they think benefits from the damage. Only place you can get parts and fixed is from Tesla. Insurance companies foot the bill, Tesla gets the money and the everyday ordinary driver of all vehicles ends up getting rate hikes in insurance.

Couple of points here. 1) there are three branches of government. Executive, legislative, and judicial. While the legislative has the power of the purse. All of those agencies report in an org chart to trump. Meaning - at any time, he can pick up the phone to the DOE secretary and tell them to fire everyone in the building and go home. Period. That is not a constitutional issue. Disbanding the department of education would need congressional approval to disband. But Trump can literally wipe out all of the employees and programs tomorrow. While the funding is still allocated to the DOE, it is not getting drawn on and will be clawed back into the general fund 2) you are defending the bureaucracy, not democracy. You tend to confuse the two. 3) you went right to VA. Trump has zero intentions of cutting VA benefits. Period. You might as well said trump was about to kill puppies. Not true. Now, is it true that many programs didn’t get re-approved? Yeah. There is your negotiation leverage 4) they are using the model used in Argentina about ‘afuera!!’ If an entire department of 300 people is there to manage 20 regulations that aren’t very necessary, or can be done at the state level - ‘afuera’. I spent 15 years as a DoD contractor and close to a year as a DHS contractor under SSA and CMS. I can tell you the levels of stupidity, terrible processes, and dead wood is endless. As a contractor - if you say anything to a govvie about any of this you risk near death experiences. I once put a proposal together which would save the government $50m in 2011 and nearly got executed. You learn to keep your mouth shut or you will be fired. I have been a fiscal conservative since I was 12 and read a book on $10,000 hammers within gov waste. In my life, I have not seen any cuts of anything - just power grabs between one party or the other growing government and trying to seize power for themselves The bureaucratic machine (swamp) is very, very real. And trump kicked a hornets nest in 2015 trying to go after them, and they fought back. Well, it’s return of the Jedi time and the swamp is about to get drained. This is the most excited I have been about my government in 36 years. We are about to be stripped down to the studs. Love it. Let the states do a lot.

If your pillow was made in China and the American government slaps a tariff on Chinese-made pillows, the tariff is added to the cost of the pillow at the point of sale in Walmart. The country of origin doesn't pay the tariff. The pillow buyer does. That's how tariffs work.
